The past month has flown by just like the rest of the year and these past 30 days have been pretty challenging and nonstop. The persistent doubt, depression and shame has made work and each day a struggle and I’m really feeling the weight of everything going on. But recent moments of joy, gratitude and connection help remind me of all the love in my life and give me hope. A photo dump of some of those moments from the last month.

"I know the world is bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge—even wisdom. Like art." Toni Morrison.

“The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.” Kahlil Gibran.

“Our greatest obstacles are also our greatest wisdom. In all the unwanted stuff there is something sharp and penetrating that cuts through all of the confusion and delusion; there’s great wisdom there." Pema Chödrön.

“The dark does not destroy the light; it defines it. It’s our fear of the dark that casts our joy into the shadows. Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” Brené Brown. taken in Los Angeles, California by @michaellatt

It was an amazing night at the major premiere of #MartinScorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon in #Hollywood yesterday surrounded by some of my favorite people. I was so happy to watch inspiring artists and leaders who we nominated to walk the red carpet looking their best on the press line. Thanks to everyone who came out for all the festivities. Congrats to my colleagues at Apple, the team behind the making of this film and everyone helping get it out into the world.

#KillersOfTheFlowerMoon opens in theaters around the world this Friday. Make sure to check it out this weekend and sneak snacks in your bag when you do with this 3+ hour runtime. taken in Dolby Theatre, Hollywood by @michaellatt

“Without community, there is no liberation. But community must not mean a shedding of our differences because it is not our differences that divide us, it is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” Audre Lorde. Practicing, embodying and cultivating community has been central to my work and life for quite some time. Community, abundance and interdependence are values that are on my mind all the time as of late. So here’s a photo dump of recent moments of me in community with great folks along with some other Audre Lorde quotes I keep coming back to on these topic.

“Interdependency is the way to a freedom which allows the I to be, not in order to be used, but in order to be creative. Within the interdependence of mutual differences lies that security which enables us to descend into the chaos of knowledge and return with true visions of our future, along with the concomitant power to effect those changes which can bring that future into being. Difference is that raw and powerful connection from which our personal power is forged.” #AudreLorde.

“Tomorrow belongs to those of us who conceive of it as belonging to everyone; who lends the best of ourselves to it, and with joy.” Audre Lorde.

“The fact that we are here and that I speak these words is an attempt to break that silence and bridge some of those differences between us, for it is not difference which immobilizes us, but silence. And there are so many silences to be broken." Audre Lorde. taken in New York, New York by @michaellatt
