The morning mist still clung to the low stone dykes along the Ayrshire lane, smelling faintly of damp earth, gorse, and the distant salt of the Firth of Clyde. It was that quiet, freezing hour just before the farm fully woke up, when the world felt suspended in a soft, grey sleep. Then, the sun broke over the eastern ridges. It didn’t just rise; it erupted, spilling a flood of liquid amber down the dirt track, turning the gravel into a path of crushed gold. And right on cue, a tiny, four-legged hurricane named Charlie decided it was time to fly. Charlie didn’t do morning strolls. To Charlie, a farm road wasn’t a walkway; it was a runway. With a joyful yip that startled a sleepy crow from a nearby fence post, he threw himself into a dead sprint. As his paws left the gravel, the low winter sun caught him perfectly from behind. In an instant, the little Pomeranian transformed. The bright light ignited the outer edges of his thick, cream coat, turning him from a dog into a blazing, floating sphere of pure energy—looking for all the world like the legendary “Ready Brek kid,” surrounded by a magical, radioactive halo of warmth. He was caught mid-bound, completely airborne, with his front paws tucked tightly under his chest. He looked less like a canine and more like a happy little cloud that had broken off from the sky to see how fast it could go. His ears were pinned back by the wind, his tongue was out, and his dark eyes gleamed with the sheer, unadulterated thrill of being small, fluffy, and incredibly fast in a very big world. For a single fraction of a second, everything aligned: the perfect Scottish sunrise, the empty, beautiful country lane, and a dog who genuinely believed he could fly. The camera clicked, capturing the magic forever. Charlie hit the ground a moment later, kicking up a tiny puff of Ayrshire dust, entirely unaware that he had just spent a split second looking like a little sun running down a farm road. Meet the incredible Gloria. At just 7 months old, this gorgeous Newfoundland is already proving herself to be the true Queen of the Mountains. I caught this breathtaking sunset high up on the farm on the west coast of Scotland, looking right out across the water to the Isle of Bute. The light was pure gold, but Gloria completely stole the show. She has been an absolute dream of a pup to work with, and I just know this is the first of many adventures we’ll discover together There is something deeply magical about the west coast of Scotland during "Sunset ." 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨ The sun was dipping low over the farm, casting a golden glow all the way across to the Isle of Bute. But the real star of the evening was Gloria. At just 7 months old, this sweet Newfoundland pup carried herself like the Queen of the Mountains. Working with her was an absolute joy. Her calm energy against that dramatic Scottish sky made for an unforgettable phototography session.
