All this style and panache had to have come from someone! Coppélia was a fine introduction into the world of Balanchine, a special thank you to my good friend @anu.o for the wonderful birthday gift:) taken in David H Koch Theater at Lincoln Center by @michaelnahas8

First proper trip to Princeton vastly surpassed expectations! Mark Rothko’s “Untitled, 1968”, Einstein’s Monument, the glass block wall at Small World Cafe, and I.M. Pei’s Spelman’s Hall were major standouts. taken in Princeton, New Jersey by @michaelnahas8

Happiest birthday to my twin! You are my day one best friend straight out the womb (literally)!! Ever since we were little, you looked out for me and initiated conversations with the other kids at the park to play with us because I was too shy and anxious to. Even though we can be at each other’s throats and argue about the dumbest stuff, I know that you will always be my No. 1 supporter no matter what.
I hope your day is filled with pastries from the Hungarian cafe and a frolick in the park lol love ya micho!!🩵🩵

Spring Saturdays are for reading, reflecting, planning, and taking one’s friend out to botanical gardens. Observing architecture and purchasing vinyl records are year-round affairs. by @michaelnahas8

A postmortem for this bitterly brisk winter — furthered my acquaintance with Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. Perhaps I could even now consider them to be friends?

Finally finished The Idiot by Dostoyevsky and read The Nose & The Overcoat by Gogol, as well as Little Tragedies by Pushkin. Speaking of overcoats, please enjoy my wonderful herringbone balmacaan.

Also finally got @club.des.lecteurs to read a work by Thomas Bernhard, a monumental achievement in of itself! No artistic dinners were held or attended this winter, but rest assured that I was nevertheless seated in judgement on my lounge chair. by @michaelnahas8

I had originally planned on going to the Cloisters last Sunday and while it was not the snow covered wonderland of yesterweek, my first winter trip here was a delight. by @michaelnahas8

Earlier this week as I was shuffling through my liked songs a Finnish tango tune that I haven’t thought about in ages came up and since I can never seem to remember any of the names of the artists/songs I decided to make a playlist so I can have some of my favorites in one consolidated form.

Now you might be wondering “How does one get introduced to Finnish tango?” And the answer is through Aki Kaurismäki’s 1988 film Ariel!

For the cover of the playlist I decided to use a film photo that I took inside of the TWA Center (which was designed by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen) as I think that it complements the music rather nicely and have placed some others that I took there in this post.

As little bonus I included a photo I took of myself last May at the top of Fisherman’s Bastion in Budapest where I am wearing my TWA bucket hat! Also fun fact; Hungarian and Finnish are somewhat in the same language family as both originated near the Ural Mountains! by @michaelnahas8
