I know the urge to try to save the world and the people around you. And this conversation is far more complicated than anyone wants to believe. My question, though, is simple: Can you protect the people from your home? I understand the desire to fight for something bigger than yourself. I understand the need to believe your life must mean something beyond survival. But there is a difference between wanting to save the world and being willing to care for the fragile lives directly around you every single day. #fatherhood #parenting by @michaelosburntx

Being a father means you need to work on yourself long before anyone calls you “dad.”You need to learn discipline. Because motivation can fail you, but discipline won’t. With discipline, you face your inconsistencies and your excuses. You cannot carry a family if you collapse under your own habits. You cannot lead if you’re not accountable to yourself first. Struggles train you. They teach you to respond instead of react. They teach you patience and clarity.#fatherhood #discipline #motivation by @michaelosburntx
