Heading back home as a doctor and couldn’t be happier to have matched at Seattle Children’s! 🤩🙏🏽

Reflecting back on medical school, I’m hit with a wave of emotions—joy, excitement, pride, apprehension, but most of all, gratitude. I’m grateful for those who have supported me along this journey to become a physician. I am forever indebted to my family, friends, and mentors whose lessons I will carry with me throughout my career. You have all meant so much during these years, perhaps more than you know. You have pushed me when I myself wondered if I would make it through. It truly takes a village and I’m thankful to have you.

To my family, you have always been in my heart even when I was physically absent. To my parents, WOW!! It’s been quite the journey and I’m finally going to be a doctor! I’m so proud to realize a dream that has also become yours. I do this for my future patients of course, but deep down, I do this for you too. When times were bleak and I myself questioned whether this time would come, I’d think of you. You have been there every step of the way and afforded me every opportunity and I certainly would not be here without you. Your love and support have been immense and I truly couldn’t ask for better parents. To my nephews and nieces, thank you so much. Whether I knew it at the time, you inspired me to pursue a career in pediatrics, working to impact other children’s lives in their most vulnerable moments. I’ll see you soon!

Medical school can really feel like an eternity but the years do fly by. I’m grateful it challenged me in ways far different than what you experience in sports. It’s pushed me to find new paths for growth and I’m thankful I could show myself a new form of resilience and determination that differed from what you encounter on a football field. I feel extremely blessed to have already realized two childhood dreams. I’m grateful to those who hold influence in my life and for those relationships that I’ll cherish forever. I am lucky to know you, so thanks to you all!
