How lucky was I to have been asked by JK to do this commercial campaign with him. Who would have known we would still be making up Professor Burke 16 years later!? Fun to look back on your work from 5 years ago, what you liked, what you’d change. How much you’ve improved your skill set. These clips are from our team’s first season of Criminal Minds Evolution or season 16. I took care of @rjhatanaka that 1st season. He had to go back & forth between clean shaven & scruffy. I hand laid his facial hair in on some days. Which was a bit challenging as I had to hand lay fake hair on him the first day I met him. I was going based off old instagram photos to guess what his facial hair growth pattern & color would look like & what our creatives wanted for the character. Then match his real facial hair color & patchiness to what I had hand laid on day one. We also had flash backs where he’d need to be clean shaven, then work in a present day scene where he was scruffy again. They wanted him worn down & a bit unkept for his character’s early introduction so I did the slightest bit of blue bird around his eyes & some modeling with illustrator color to break up his skin texture and give him a more rugged appearance. As his character arc evolved, we transitioned to a more traditional men’s makeup while also keeping him clean shaven. Now as a series regular @renapoli_beauty and I both take care of RJ based on whoever has an open chair or sometimes we arm wrestle to see who gets him in their chair 😂💪🏼those days @rjagentofmu does him.

A little silicone tape & bondo on the eyelid, add some eye blood, cotton in the mouth with a bit of ultra slime for drool, some highlight & shadow in the right places, combined with the acting skills of @brianderozan and ta-dah….you get a quick, inexpensive but effective look for a victim on Criminal Minds Evolution. BACK TO MAKING THE VEGETARIAN SAUSAGE AT FAKE MURDER CAMP @criminalminds this week and overjoyed I have a job with such delights. @micheleinmakeup got me this truly ridiculous fantastic creature and @tinoweeno morning time and Erica Messer boss lady of grace and @innovativeartists @jonathan_howard61 @dara_finkel got me first day of work flowers. I will use this good energy to make the good with my days, this I promise by @micheleinmakeup
