A lifelong dream came true this past week. There’s something deeply empowering about embracing the unknown. Willingly scaring yourself. Jumping into your fears head on. Proving that courage isn’t the absence of fear but the willingness to leap despite it.

This was a reminder that the greatest growth often comes from stepping into what scares us the most.

If you’re ever interested in doing something crazy, like swimming in the open ocean with sharks, then I highly recommend @deepblueecotours on the North Shore in Oahu.

It is an absolute privilege to swim with such beautiful creatures, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to guide me through it. The team was not only incredibly knowledgeable but made me feel completely at peace with jumping into the ocean.

They taught us so much about shark conservation, emphasizing that over 100 million sharks are killed each year. Since sharks can’t reproduce as quickly as they’re being killed, this threatens the balance of the entire ocean ecosystem.

Their passion for protecting these misunderstood creatures made the experience even more powerful. I felt safe the entire time and walked away with a newfound respect for these beautiful animals and the vital role they play in our oceans.
