35 baby! 🎈

I’m still figuring it out, just like everybody else.
But what I do know is that I like who I am becoming. I like that I’m more myself now than I’ve ever been.
Growing up, a lot of people projected onto me who they thought I should be because of the way I danced, the way I looked, or the image they had in their minds. The truth is, I never really fit that mold. For a long time, I carried shame around that.
I don’t anymore.
Because the people who truly know me love me for who I am, not who they expected me to be. And more importantly, I’ve learned to love myself for who I am too.
I’m going to keep pouring into myself so I can be the best version of me for the people and animals who depend on me. I’ll continue striving to be the best shepherd I can be to all of my animals, keep my heart open, keep my mind open, and keep growing. taken in California by @michelle.the.creative

✨ One year of Penny & Willow. 🤎🐴

One year ago, I stepped into a completely new chapter as a beginner in her 30s and took on a green broke horse & a mini horse, with so much to learn and even more growing to do.

This year has been filled with countless hours of riding, lunging, groundwork, learning, mistakes, breakthroughs, and trying again. It hasn’t always been easy — there have been hard days, rough patches, and plenty of moments where I questioned myself.

But through it all, these horses have taught me patience, confidence, resilience, and the importance of simply showing up.

Having horses has transformed me in ways I never expected. They challenge me, ground me, and forced me to have a high level of emotional regulation. 🤎

One year later, I’m still learning, still growing, and so incredibly grateful I took the leap.

Here’s to one year with Penny & Willow and a lifetime of memories to come. 🐴✨

Shout out to the best trainer! @redfirpo
