Ok. So today I stood on stage at a big bank and told the story of gender diversity through the lens of My Little Pony. Who doesn't want to stand on a big stage and say, we are all special and WE ARE ALL UNICORNS!! 🦄 by @michellebooth0101

Don't Let The Steal Your Awe. I grew up in the eighties; a time of social unrest, Thatcher's austerity cuts and football violence, It was a time of economic depression and soaring job losses.

Towards the end of the decade the mood shifted with the emergence of Liverpool's Acid House scene. A dance floor flooded with (chemically enabled) serotonin brought people together for transcendence. It was a time of unity and relief from the bondage of self. This opened up a creative energy which fuelled the revitalisation of the city from the ground up.

"If you've shared moments like that with people, you're changed and you're connected to them for good”. Everybody In the Place, Jeremy Deller

Today we struggle to give ourselves permission to pause and feel wonder. We’re algorithmically incentivised to seek dopamine to keep us engaged in this week’s culture wars. We look inwards rather than outwards and whilst outrage keeps the engagement machine running, we become depleted and overwhelmed as we scroll through bitesize clips of genocide to teeth whitening.

“Awe is the feeling we have when we encounter vast, mysterious things".
Dacher Keltner, Professor of Psychology, Berkeley

Research by Keltner shows that awe shifts our focus away from our own ego, making us feel smaller, more humble, and more connected to a larger whole. Awe lowers inflammation, calms the nervous system and enhances well-being, encouraging us to be more collaborative, altruistic, and kind. Melting our differences and reminding us of our shared humanity.

Inspired by the blue plaques that are dotted around London, each 30 second recording has been crowdsourced through stickers placed across London, with a simple ask to ’send in your moments of awe’ to capture the intangible to build a monument of awe. One that is ever changing, with the ultimate ambition to build a monument of awe that captures this moment of time, a moment of great challenge but also great opportunity.

As we stand on shifting sand, we can make the choice to pause and look beyond ourselves, without judgement and notice a moment of awe, creating a butterfly effect in the world. taken in Central Saint Martins by @michellebooth0101

Everyone knows what a ham I am, so it comes as no surprise that I absolutely loved playing Mother Goose in our Winter Show, the St Martins panto that is created in less than a week by all the BA Performance students. It was the best fun and I'm blown away by my fellow student's talents to create such a spectacle is such a short space in time. In the corporate world you're always banging on about collaboration, team work and agility but this project really lives those values. Not only that but the panto was a brilliant response to counter the threat of us losing our amazing theatre space, with the story focussed on how we can defeat the baddies of commercial forces through the power of fairytales. All whilst being fun and hilarious. Panto as protest! by @michellebooth0101

SPONSOR PONI MITCHELL IN THE LONDON PANTOMIME HORSE RACE ON 14th DECEMBER

Those that know me know that I'm a massive fan of a panto horse, so what better thing to do than run a Rock Star themed Panto Horse race with one of my Besties @josiegrappa across London for Great Ormond St Charity. Before you ask, I am the back-end. Typecast again.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MENTION 'PONI MITCHELL' if you sponsor us because we want to raise the most : link in bio and comments.

Also if you fancy a laugh come and cheer us on, we'd love to see you!

All the money raised goes to Great Ormond Street and I promise I'll never ask you again...x by @michellebooth0101
