Sometimes changing directions feels refreshing. Other times it can feel like freight train coming at you and you’re frozen, stuck on the tracks.

Either way, I have learned that decisions must be made and sometimes the next best thing is the best thing.

Now, a year after shutting down my event planning business I know it was the best decision. Closing that door has opened many more that wouldn’t have appeared if I had not changed directions. It was a hard one when I realized that I didn’t want to run that business and had no clue what I would do next. And boy what a road I travelled.

C O N F E S S I O N
If you’ve followed me long enough or go down my previous posts you’d see that I used to post regularly, sharing my life, business, thoughts and faith in God. Then all of a sudden my posting stopped… there’s a reason for that. I tried to post every once in a while but what what used to feel so natural to me became alien. All because I suffered an extreme attack on my identity.

You see, I had started a biz, run it successfully and was on my way to someone’s stage or successful people list… but for reasons I’ll share later, the business dwindled down and I decided to shut its doors. At the same time I started to gain weight, FAST. These two factors led to me wanting to hide. I didn’t know who I was without the entrepreneur title. I felt like a failure. More than that, I was always the girl with a plan and now I had none and now I had a body I had always dreaded.

That started a caterpillar stage I never expected. Now, as I emerge a new butterfly, I want to share what I learned on the journey, how God is bringing me through and how I’m learning my true identity, focusing on my mental and physical health and practicing confidence regardless of my social standing and my size. Exactly 2 years ago I met the most beautiful soul. Would you believe that the Lord told me my future husband was already watching me? I remember praying and asking the Lord when would it finally be my turn. To be honest I was kicking and screaming like a little brat. The Lord literally told me “Just relax, he’s already here.. He’s watching you.” And of course @emmanuelhierro had his eye on me for a while before he actually approached me. Thanks to @appleluis for the smooth intro 😉.
