the only thing for certain is - well, not much. I am grateful to live and breathe each day. who knows what the future holds for anybody. but imma keep doing hard things, seeing cool things, and growing until my last breath. that is certain. #strength #challengeyourself #grateful #blessed by @michelleingarra

I first heard Deftones when I was 14 years old living at an all girls boarding school in Cedar City, Utah. Being that it was run by Mormons, the policies were extremely strict and rigid. One of the most difficult ones (for me) was having no access to personal music device. All we used was an old CD burned from a girl who graduated previously (mind you on an ancient boom box).

Part of the weekly routine was to deep clean the facilities every Sunday but also was the only time we could listen music.

I will never forget the moment the CD skipped to the next song - Track 14, Mein by Deftones. That moment set an entirely new trajectory of what music felt like, meant, and the power behind an accompaniment of different sound.

18 years later, sharing their incredible live performance with my little sister (who has a stellar taste in music thanks to yours truly 😉) was monuments on so many levels.

I've always said, music is one of humanities greatest discoveries.

Thank you #chinomoreno and #deftones for being the band that has brought me through not only some of the darkest moments in life, but also some of my brightest. taken in Prudential Center by @michelleingarra

I hope there's an afterlife so I can do it all again.
It may be done in a different body
It may be done in a different way.
but the opportunity to live beautifully, nonetheless. taken in Secret Spot by @michelleingarra

I might be the only person who doesn't mind the humid Jersey summer heat. I discovered this lovely corn field walk through a nature preserve and it's become my new solace. Life doesn't always have to be exhilarating, fast paced, and exciting. Sometimes a simple solo sunset walk in silence is just enough for the soul.

well, enough for mine at least. ❤️ by @michelleingarra
