Thank you so, so much, everyone, for all of your messages. I really am lucky to be surrounded by so much love, support and kindness

Our chapter with Ralph and Roxie was never going to be forever, was it? And when I put my usual positive spin on this situation, I feel nothing but gratitude and pride for the love, warmth, fun and beautiful times they brought into our lives.

For me, today feels like the beginning of a completely new life. One that comes with so many opportunities, but also one that feels lonely, lost and cold. We all know that, in time, those feelings will become easier to carry

I would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to my Cathy Petrelli, Joe Falder and the whole team at The Moorlands Veterinary Centre for your endless compassion and support, not just over this past year, but throughout Ralph and Roxie’s entire lives.

You guided my family and me through two of the toughest times, always helping us make the right decisions at the right time. We really have had the best team in our corner.

You both respected me on my mission to leave no stone unturned. The endless conversations, relentless questions, demands on your time and collaboration were the epitome of what it means to be a dog owner, a client, a friend and, at times, a counsellor. I will never forget this, never. I will miss you.

I must also thank Hannah and the team at Bramble & Bear for scooping Roxie up last weekend when her need for emergency care became so intensive. We are so grateful for everything you have done for her!

And to my Louis… ❤️ What you have done this week for Roxie and for our family is something that only someone working in this profession could truly understand the weight of. Caring for your own dog in your place of work, facing everything you were faced with head-on last week, and the way you responded… it is the ultimate test of you as a person and as an employee. It is proof, if ever proof were needed, that what you do for a living is so much more than a job title could ever describe. You are made to do this. I am so proud of you.

Right now, I just want to get Roxie back home, where she belongs. Monday can’t come soon enough 🙏🏼🐾

Our Roxie 🐾

The most precious chapter of our lives was always going to close one day. They say you only ever have one dog of a lifetime. That’s rubbish, either that, or we’ve lived through a miracle and somehow been blessed with two ♥️♥️

Run free. Have fun. Smile again. Be happy 🌈

I will look for Ralph in the stars ✨🐾 and I will look for you in the sunshine - beautiful, bold, warm and bright ☀️🐾

Your bravery will leave a legacy beyond measure, and a message to everyone to never ever give up hope 🩷

We can’t wait to see you again one day 🐾

A whole year in surgical menopause, and after a week of grief there are a few things that have really resonated with me 🙏🏼

I had a turbulent time in perimenopause and right now lots of my friends are feeling it too 🤍

I just need to say it will get better ❤️
