A letter to the strongest woman i’ve ever known-

Rest in Peace, Grandma, my rock, my best friend, my Barbara Ann. This day is a really, really tough one for me. To say that I will miss you is an understatement. I used to have nightmares as a little girl that someone took me away from you(usually mom) and I would wake up and be devastated for the rest of the day. There is no one who spoiled me more than you. I’ll cherish every memory of sitting in your kitchen while you smoked a cigarette, eating spoonfuls of sugar out of the sugar bowl you used for coffee. I’ll cherish every Christmas that you came and brought me your magic cookie bars and watched me eat them with a smile on your face. I’ll miss your laugh, your voice, the sound you made while you walked down the stairs. I’ll remember the way your house smelled, lavender bath beads in the bathroom, coffee in the kitchen, and perfume in your bedroom. I’ll remember laying in my room in your house, watching The Golden Girls, as i drifted to bed happy to know that I would wake up and see you in the morning. Most of all, I’ll always keep in mind the faith you had in me and the confidence that I would always do great things in life. I inherited your kindness, your love, your humor and your compassion. I love you more than tongue-can-tell, Grandma. Until we meet again in Heaven with Grandpa.

With love,
The girl who made you the best Grandmother on the face of the Earth. by @michellem716
