He gives selflessly daily and without hesitation and he is always planning a trip for our family to make memories *even if he is not on it. @paulno97 you serve our family (and our city) so well. We appreciate all you do and love you so much. I am posting this early because I’ll be at volleyball in the morning watching your favorite person win the gold (manifesting) and then on the road (from, you guessed it, a trip your planned). A big Sacrament for our best girl who takes everything with a seriousness and an ease. Willa is rarely nervous because she asks a thousand questions prior to know every detail prior to attending anything and her First Reconciliation was no different. She came with confidence in her preparation, a memorized Act of Contrition and a fearlessness in her unwavering faith… She left with a fist bump and a dress compliment from Fr. Javier, A LOT of feedback from her brother on what she could have confessed (a long list in fact), and a pride for herself, her classmates and her relationship with God. I’m forever proud to be your Mom, Willa Bloom. You are blessed with a spirit that is full of joy, magic and optimism and your angels are guiding you every step of the way. THIS CHRISTMAS ✨

I am so very thankful for this family, this year and the incredible memories (Japan and Hawaii top my list).

If you’re around in stories, you know Brodie is thriving in his volleyball career and actively talking to colleges as he finishes up his Junior year at Brophy... with volunteer work and his girlfriend filling up the little time he does have. Willa is still trying all the things as an almost 8 year old - dance, cheer, theatre, soccer, art, Girl Scouts and volleyball is coming down the pipeline. She is a proud hamster Mom with the best friends who are proud hamster Aunties (again). Shep is soaring in his last year of preschool playing flag football, soccer, baseball and continues to bring the levity with his impeccable comedic timing. Paul spent the last year studying for the Captains test (not shocking to his wife, he crushed it) all while managing a growing mortgage career. Meanwhile, I have brought clarity and creativity back into my daily life balancing a few businesses both old and new and feeling so blessed to still be able to show up for our kids and the community.

We are excited for another year of travel (and not just for volleyball), connection with friends and family, and investing into our health! Now, the countdown is on to a beautiful New Year, Willa’s birthday in January and Italy in February! by @michelleno4

For Brodie’s 17 birthday, here is a quick compilation of what he’s been up to during the last year 🤣

I remember what it was like to love something so much that it was all consuming. And then I had him. He is the best part of my days: filling it with humor, competition, fun, great music and love. I love him more than volleyball, good grades, rage bait and jump scares, and every last minute uniform wash and drive to campus. I am forever proud to be his Mom and I will spend the rest of my days reminding him of my belief in him as a human.

Cheers to spending your 17th birthday today in Chicago for, you guessed it, a volleyball tournament. Go do big things and remember always 1 Corinthians 10:31. Do all things for the Greater Glory of God. AMDG. Your birthdate. 10:31.

P.S. 17 feels an awful lot like 18 which makes me v unwell. by @michelleno4

No dude is more deserving of celebration (or more particular in said celebration) than Shep. We are so thankful for everyone who made Shep feel so special. The youngest of the bunch and always forced to share, last year as Willa walked in the PANDA Fashion Show on his birthday and this year he’s sharing it with Mother’s Day. Never a complaint by Shep, but always a unique theme (and always wanting a small group). I think this year’s jersey / drip party might out-original his red party and also forced me to dig deep in the creative dept. The Brophy Bronco mascot couldn’t make it last minute, but I guess it leaves the door open for next year…

This season was a gift — lessons on the court by some of the best coaches and players in the state that welcomed him onto the Varsity stage for the first time and even more lessons off the court in resiliency, humor, consistency, humility, leadership and faith. He has had to claw his way here on a bumpy path, and for that, I’m grateful. He is hungrier than ever and his love for the game is unmatched.

While he was awarded the Most Outstanding Player again this year, I think Brodie would agree that the works not done and he didn’t get here alone.

Proud to be your Mom, Brodie White. You earned it.

**and, sure, I have a full two years of vacations and life to update in reel form, but this one was quick and easy because Brodie allowed me minimal pictures even though (and the record will state) that TO did instruct the boys to embrace all the pictures tonight… by @michelleno4

When a photoshoot falls on your birthday, you scrap the birthday montage (that I would inevitably overthink to perfection) and you just marvel at her wonder…

God knew she was meant to be on this earth and meant to be mine. Willa Bloom is strong, loyal, fearless, giving, creative, inquisitive, brave, sentimental, as book smart as they come, and oh so beautiful. She’s still an ‘early bird’, the sides of her hands are usually colorfully covered in some sort of marker, she wants to try ALL THE THINGS, gives the best compliments, and is an incredible friend. If you ask what her favorite part of the day was, she will most often answer “EVERYTHING!” because she loves life... and she makes sure to fill it to the brim every minute of the day, creating art and wonder in her wake.

I don’t post in these squares often, but when I do, it’s Christmas card pictures and a photo of our cards at the end. For someone who loves pictures, this year I spent much more time in the moment and subsequently I forgot to capture important things like taking a picture of our family at the fire station on Christmas Day 🤣

Merry Christmas to all and cheers to a New Year of embracing imperfections, living in the moment, surrounding yourself with loyal friends and clients that cheer you on and build you up, and finding peace and joy in the everyday crazy. I love my people hard and I am so grateful for the love, patience and grace they give me daily (sometimes in questionable lesson giving forms, but I know it’s there) ❤️

Also, if anyone caught the heavy trumpet “All You Need Is Love” Love Actually reference in my card, you are my people.

Dear Brodie,
I’ve sobbed for hours looking at pictures of you over the years and can’t believe today you’re sixteen. The amount of pride I have to be your Mom is overwhelming and the same ‘sick to my stomach’ kind of love that I had for you as a baby has never faded. You are kind-hearted, giving, funny, adventurous, calm-tempered and genuinely you. My favorite quality about you is that you always show up when it matters. Always. No complaints. Our time in the car together will be dwindling now, but I need you to know how much I have cherished these years together. You are an amazing DJ somehow knowing every word to all of ‘my songs’. We have built a beautiful and safe place to communicate openly and you have built an incredible family of friends around you. Thank you for hugging me, even though our proportions are different these days. Thank you for making me laugh, even if it’s at my expense and in the form of scaring me incessantly. Thank you for connecting with your siblings daily, even though the line of connection and chaos gets blurred. Thank you for communicating with me and sharing with me, even if you can’t reply to a time sensitive text. Thank you for your patience and grace as I navigate parenthood and balance. And mostly, thank you for letting me be your Mom. It’s the best thing I am and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to be loved by you. Happy 16th Birthday. I love you bigger than volleyball, bigger than any problem, conflict, grade or performance …times infinity plus one to whatever you say.

Before I start bragging about the season @thebrodiewhite had (fair warning), I have to shout out the incredible @brophyprepvolleyball program for welcoming B into their family. He was given constant opportunity to shine, mentorship to build confidence, coaching to increase his skill and court IQ, and took a lot of shit to keep it fun. He took it all in and applied it all. He watched film nightly. He quietly started a weights and conditioning program with Coach Denk when he realized there wasn’t one specifically for volleyball and was up at 5:45am pulling “us” out of bed to take him to the weight room before school started. He increased his height, muscle mass, and vertical.

At the beginning of the season he was awarded Captain by his coaches and his amazing teammates who believed in him and he played some incredible volleyball. His film from the year shows his numerous kills per game, wild blocks that surprised us all, great passing, digs and defense, and solid leadership on the court, (so many incredible moments I don’t know how to clip them all together) BUT something turned on when he put on that Brophy jersey and I can’t quite explain it, but he will never be the same player. From a club season that started in injury earlier this year, he entered this high school season healthy, humble, and ready to work and he ended as the 2023-24 Freshman Volleyball MVP. We couldn’t be more proud of his growth on and off the court and he’s set some huge new goals for himself! Huge cheers to a “tipping point” kind of season. Now back to @azfearvbc and some sand for the summer! by @michelleno4
