This was my grandfather’s favorite Bible verse. He passed it on to my father by making him repeat it WITHOUT STOPPING as he walked from home to school and back.

So of course, my father just HAD to pass it on to me.

And he added his own flair..

From a very young age, if I asked my dad any question, he would ignore me and tell me to GOOGLE IT.

Now that I’m older, I think this is such a great cop-out for an adult who probably doesn’t have the answers (well played, Dad 😂).

But what it taught me was that everything has an answer. Every dream or idea has a resource that can get me from square zero across the finish line.

Now that process has been made so much easier with AI.

⭐ I want to become a public speaker? I find the best resources and learn.

“You need to establish a LinkedIn presence.”

Ok, I can find the best resources for that.

⭐ I want to grow my social media audience? Yep, finding the best resources for that.

⭐ I want to learn how to paint? Just last week, I was asking @chatgpt “how do you thin oil paint” 😭

Over the past 4 years, I’ve tried and tested this process with great success.

But now I find myself in a sort of paralysis…
(too many options. send help 😫)

I’m realizing that ANYTHING really is possible (with consequences for your actions, of course. let’s not get carried away now 👀)

And now that it’s not just an unproven and delusional belief…

what exactly do you CHOOSE to do?

You could make a lot of money to give to the poor.
You could become an artist, just for the pure creative expression.
You could climb the corporate ladder…
or become a DJ.

I *think* I’m finally settling on what I want to do.

What that is… is between me and God hehehhe

But I wanted to ask you too:
What is it that YOU want to do?

And are you aware that no matter how big an answer you come up with, it is entirely possible? by @michellescomputer

with the release of gpt-6 astra… which a lot of people are apparently calling agi.. i wanted to share this piece of speculative fiction(also known as a “future history”) that i wrote a few months ago.

it’s an exploration of what the world could look like if we combined forces with artificial intelligence (almost cyborg style). it’s definitely more on the “techno-optimist” side.

now, of course, there are a lot of interests and concerns around the development of agi: world security, bioweapons, fruit flies being tortured, the list of horrors is endless and dreadful 😭

but the sci-fi girl in me thinks it would be so cool to have co-intelligence: an integration of our human intelligence with artificial intelligence: agents, robots, chatbots, mindbots(? 👀)

in a way that allows us to be creative and not necessarily have to do work we don’t want to do.
in a way that allows for ubi, for everyone to be fed and well, and for a great climate as well.

now, is this possible?
i actually think so.

but is this likely?
i think it’s all dependent on policy, legislation, and the people who are in charge.. of which i am not one, so a girl can just dream 😫

I turned 20 this year.

And one of the biggest things the past year has taught me is the power of saying no.

A woman I really admire, Cat Goetze, recently shared a video on how to not be a people pleaser. So many people in the comments (myself included) were saying, “I need to learn this 😩”

Honestly, the answer is simple.
You just …say no.
Say no when you don’t want to do something.

But this is much easier said than done.

Sometimes you know that saying no might mean losing someone, so you say yes to keep them around.
You say yes because you don’t want to be alone.
You say yes because even uncomfortable companionship can feel safer than no companionship at all 🫠

But when you keep doing this at the expense of your own desires, plans, and goals, you leave yourself with no time or energy to build the life YOU actually want.

Eventually, you start resenting people for the parts of yourself you killed to keep them happy.

I’ve said no a lot this past year.
I’m not going to lie and tell you I said no, and everyone respected it, and we all stayed besties lol.
There’s a significant amount of people I’m simply no longer friends with because I chose what was good for me.

I don’t even think it’s selfish.
It’s just taking care of yourself instead of constantly putting yourself aside to make somebody else happy.
Putting your oxygen mask on first.

The people who only loved you for what you provided them will leave.
It might suck.
You might be lonely for a while.

But I promise your 90-year-old self will be very, very, very proud of you 🥹

And as a bonus, you start finding people who like you for YOU.

They get to meet the version of you that could only exist because you finally gave yourself the time, energy, and space to learn and grow.

I’m still figuring all this out.
Still learning.
Still growing.
Still building my life minute by minute.
And getting much better at saying no.
I’m definitely not an expert, and I’m figuring so much of this out as I go.

But it’s a wonderful experience to be a human being, doing what human beings do: grow.

i know the mission but i’m still figuring out the best way to achieve it.

right now, AI feels like one of the highest-leverage ways i can make education accessible to anyone, anywhere.

maybe in five years i’ll look back and realize i got some things wrong.
maybe i’ll discover even better ways to teach.
i hope i do 😩

this mission is much bigger than me, and i’m learning right alongside all of you.

if you have ideas, feedback, or things you think i should be teaching, i’d genuinely love to hear them.
i’m always hanging out in the comments hehe

this brilliant life-saving app got karen to meet tim cook and john ternus 🥹

if you’re thinking of what to build, it’s a smart idea to follow in karen’s footsteps and solve a REAL problem around you.

in ghana, flooding can be a real issue, as we’ve seen in the past few days...

…it’s so inspiring how karen used coding and design to develop a unique solution for that with her own skillset.

you can ABSOLUTELY make a change with the resources that you have.
you just have to take the first step and start building 🫶🏾

the @apple swift student challenge is also a great way to motivate yourself to do this in creative and impactful ways.
