As I reflected on this week, I landed on the word **confrustrated**. 🤣

Confused + frustrated at the same time.

And I laughed when I said it out loud because… yep. That was it.

Whether it’s a work matter, a relationship, a conversation with your partner, your teenager, a friend, or even something happening at church, this is real.

You know you’ve felt it at some point.

That moment when you’re trying to understand what someone means, what they want, what changed, or what you’re supposed to do next… and the longer it takes to get clear, the more frustrated you become.

I don’t know anyone who wakes up and says, “I want to be confused and frustrated today!” 😅

Yet somehow, we end up there.

A few things can help:

• Name what’s actually unclear
• Separate facts from assumptions
• Ask for clarity before the frustration builds
• Slow down the story you’re telling yourself

And if you’re leading others:
• Be clear about expectations
• Check for understanding, not just agreement
• Clean up mixed messages quickly

Because confusion left unresolved can become frustration.

And once frustration enters the room, clarity can become even harder to find.

I have a standing appointment every Friday at sunset. It calls me to rest.

For years, wherever I worked, people knew I would leave a little early on Friday so I could be home in time to welcome the Sabbath. If I got too buried in my work, someone would sometimes come find me and remind me that it was time to go.

I always loved that. It meant I had been consistent enough that the people around me knew this time was sacred to me.

Now, not every Sabbath is restful. Some are full. Some are very busy. And sometimes I have to remind myself that stopping work is not necessarily the same thing as resting.
Rest is bigger than sleep.

Sometimes it is stillness. A slower breath. Worship. Prayer. A walk. Less input. Putting the phone down. Simply ceasing for a while.

This is my reminder to breathe, to be still, to worship, and to make room.

Rest makes room for restoration.

Let’s treat ourselves to some rest. Not as a reward. As a rhythm.

Your calling requires mental stewardship.

🎉Calling all mothers. Breathe. Keep Going. You are doing good. You are not alone.

Motherhood is one beautiful expression of nurturing.

💎My daughter with her likkle-but-she-tallawah personality.

💎My son with his alpha male-family first- curator-of-good-vibes personality.

Parenting them and learning from them have shaped the woman I am today.

It’s been a journey of pushing through feelings of self-doubt and second-guessing once I brought my firstborn home ten weeks after his birth.

In those moments the urge to succumb to the negative self talk was powerful!

BUT they are simply the discomfort of new learning, the unconscious acknowledgment of incompetence as you GROW into this profound role.

So mothers new and who’ve been here for a minute:

❤️ Be gentle with yourselves
❤️ Learn from those around you
❤️ Seek/Ask for help

I witnessed my granddaughter’s virtual kindergarten class end with this affirmation, and it stayed with me.

“I am smart. I can do hard things. I am up for the challenge.”

If words shape identity, imagine what could happen when children hear and believe words like these every single day.

We might see more children who:
✨ approach challenges with confidence
✨ recover more quickly from mistakes
✨ believe they are capable of learning
✨ develop resilience early in life
✨ speak to themselves with kindness instead of fear

Children need more than information.
They need identity, encouragement, and belief planted early.

The words spoken over children matter more than we realize.
