Plot twist: We got married!

6 months ago, I married my best friend. The one who keeps me grounded, makes me laugh when I’m being dramatic, and somehow always listens when I have something to say (and I have a lot to say). You’ve held me through everything, made me feel safe, and love me for who I am.

I needed you… and now, I choose you for all of my lifetimes.
(But let’s be real, you’re stuck with me in this one.)

Perdón mamá 🤭😂 at least I finished school as I promised.

This month 8 years ago I told my mom I was going to The Philippines to do my duties as Miss Earth and that I will be back home after right in time to continue studying… well we all know that didn’t happen 😂 I love it here and I miss there, my heart lives in a constant duality, in two continents opposite from eachother.

What a ride these 34 years have been 💛 I feel so incredibly grateful for the life I’ve built and for everything that’s coming because wdym I am in the toddler years of adulthood.
I used to be terrified of getting old, of my 30s, of wrinkles or my body changing, but the more I live the more I understand how much getting old is nothing more than experiencing the life I once dreamed when I was a teenager.

Nobody asked but here’s some wisdom I’ve gained through the years:
- Dream bigger than you can, you might get it.
- Words have power and create your reality, be aware of how you speak to yourself and others.
- Having that slice of cake in the morning or and extra cup of rice is more valuable than fitting in a XS pants.
- Talking about bodies, how skinny your body is it’s the least interesting thing about you.
- Stop healing and optimizing and start living, you are not a constant “in progress” project, you are already enough as you are.
- Love a lot, love your family, your partner, your friends, your life, your mistakes, love mother earth, love love love. We need more of that.
- Ambition doesn’t look the same on everyone, wanting more can mean something totally different to the big house and fancy car and bags.
- Everything is subjective, except human rights!
- Stand and speak up for your beliefs.
- You can change your mind.
- Life is too short to fit in, STAND OUT so go and wear all the colors.

I can’t wait to be adding more to the list of wisdom as the years pass 💛

Some things my wife has taught me.

Not through lectures.
Not by trying to change me.
Just by being herself.

I didn’t just marry someone from another culture.

I married someone who challenged the way I lived.

Someone who taught me that life doesn’t always have to be rushed. That rest isn’t laziness. That love should be felt. That authenticity will always outlive appearances.

Maybe that’s what relationships are supposed to do.

Not complete you.

Just introduce you to parts of yourself you hadn’t met yet.
