In 2018... I randomly saw your Snapchat and you said "moved into my new hood!" I immediately sent you a message and said wtf "its my hood." Met you at @opbrewco and shut the place down with our OG doggies Margote and Zoey (RIP). What's funny is we were friends for years but not close, then for whatever reason that changed, and we became bestfriends, it was kind of instant, smooth and meant to be. What an awesome ride our 8 years in Sacramento has been together. I am so proud and excited for you taking your step and creating a new chapter for yourself. Happy mother effing birthday!!! San Diego here you come! @irespinoza

Happy Birthday to the ride to my die. The ying to my yang, this crazy ass ride called life seems impossible without you. God gave me you. I'm so proud of you, every moment we've grown together, the ups the downs. Somehow no matter how bad, how high or low I am or you are I have never not felt truly seen and loved by you. What a wonderful lucky thing to have someone like you as my bestfriend. I love you my tree hugger hippie best friend for eva eva. Here is to our next 36 years! by @michynel

I haven't been ready to write this down or post about it, and I cannot say I am ready now. The moment I say it outloud this nightmare is a reality I cannot take back.

My Dad had open heart surgery the 14th of April. He had to go back to ICU 19th since his heart was battling him... He was still in ICU when my mom was found and had a left side hemorrhagic stroke the morning of April 22nd. Luckily she was found quickly by family members and was airlifted (to a different hospital then my dad) going to the best neurological center in northen Nevada, Renown Reno.

When my sister and I got the call, we quickly had to decide who goes where, and decide how to handle this. She was closest to the freeway that would lead to my mom and I was closest to my dads hospital. I went to go tell my father that his wife had a stroke while he was hooked up to medicine and machines in an ICU. He was discharged April 23rd and I immediately took him to see his unconscious love. He is doing well but obviously still recovering, battling dangerous high blood pressure doing his best to deal with the stress of my Mother's diagnosis.

I'm barely coming up for air. I have felt since Tuesday morning at 940 am that I have been under water, drowning waiting for a breathe to find me, fighting the incredibly cruel strong current. She finally yesterday gave us the first sign of hope that she could recover. She will have to learn how to talk and walk again. Her right side is limp but she can feel it and do very slight movements. I am holding onto the fact that she is still in there. She knows who we are. She is still here.

I do not believe in any diety written in a book, but I believe in what Einstein said "energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another." So I look to you all, to change this energy into another form, a healing form where I get my family back. I know in my soul all your well wishes has helped my family thru this.

Well I finally made it to Outside Lands and it was quite magical. I am not sure if I'm per say a festival person but this particular one has always been on the bucket list. Post Malones country set was enthusiastic and fun, it's nice seeing country music in a northern Cali epitome of hippy type city, such a juxposition from the normal country scene. Ben Howard was eerily beautiful as his music usually is. Chapelle, omg what a queen. What did it for me was the mist rolling as the sun went down as Sturgill Simpson rocked out straight with no song transitions for over an hour. Magical is an overused word but that's what it was for me. Every year I either find a new artist to be totally enamored with or revert back to an old one with new material, I get fixated, obsessed, I sleep and dream the album and this year's album was Johnny Blueskies's aka Sturgill Simpson "Passage du Dessir". During one of his quieter transitions I heard the first chords of "If the sun never rises again" and I squealed so loud and jumped up and down smiling clapping that everyone around me laughed then screamed and jumped up and down with me particularly the group of young 20s from Mexico city in front of me. Music is so freaken special, you can love it even if you dont understand the words, you can feel it, dream it, be it. You can even make it thru the terrifying festival portapotty experience and cattleherding lines for it and it still can be a special memory. Music transcends. If only I had any talent or could sing I'd make it my life. Thanks for the awesome memories #OSL

This starry picture didn't go exactly right... kind of like the entire Yosemite backpacking trip... but I still kind of like it. I shouldn't have started it with the fire on and then mess it up with my tent light... looking forward to trying it again. #goprohero12black #starry

Not sure what's going on with the universe but I've had some pretty bad luck as of late on my last three supposed to be relaxing trips.
Crashed a scooter in Mexico
Almost (what it felt like) drowned at one of my favorite whitewater training class
Got like 3rd degree blisters on each heel 4 miles into a 20 mile backpacking trip.
All these trips were supposed to refresh me but really didn't. It's hard not to look too far into it.

Hopefully these are the last of the setbacks/injuries because bad things happen in threes right? I am really needing to get back to myself, my fitness and try to find a groove of routine. Anyone have some good advice for breaking some bad juju? taken in Laurel Lake by @michynel

Day one Fiji.

Unexpected music festival the largest in Fiji, after a horrible airbnb experience that we promptly fixed, we made our way to music on the beach, with lots of Kava and all the Bula vibes.
