Not the usual Cavs.

At Field of Vision, Michael Cavanagh worked across our 60" Chau, 51" Feng, and Mbao Gongs, moving between massive low tones and the quieter, melodic sounds of the smaller gongs.

@mickeycavs of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has created an entirely new, percussion-driven score for Christopher Nolan’s cult-classic, Memento.

This Saturday, CAVS performs live, in real time, alongside the film with @hearmyeyes🥁

As The AU Review puts it, this is a performance where “You can’t really hide when you’re on the drums.” CAVS describes his approach as instinctive: “what you see on the screen and then what you hear coming from the drums is literally just what I feel.”

After its Melbourne performances, the final Sydney show is happening for ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Write this down: Memento is open 📝

CAVS (King Gizzard) accelerates Nolan’s indie classic with a live, shape-shifting score switching between a 1960s Ludwig jazz kit, 1970s Slingerland prog-rock kit and Mandalas electric drum pads.

Part of Melbourne International Film Festival, with two final shows in Melbourne today at 2pm & 6pm.

A limited season. The only chance to experience Memento in this format.

At the end of the month, it flickers into City Recital Hall, Sydney for one night only.
