Scrolling on IG and seeing a guy say the CBOT was empty and might turn it into retail and a pickleball gym had my wheels turning immediately. I remember as a kid seeing the CEO Jordan commercial and always thinking that’s Jordan HQ. Being able to bring that to life was just one of many bucket list items that seemed impossible.

Seeing the space bare just showed so much potential and imagination. I wanted to recreate the iconic desk scene, where MJ was inspecting the AJ 13, and have an early release of the AJ 13 Flint. Also, I envisioned a marketing workspace where we display Energy’s working desk alongside streetwear, retail, and sports. There would be a lounge, a closet for retail, and a customization / design studio led by the local great Ron Louis. Last but not least, a half-court to host “The One,” the center of the space, with the iconic ticker in the background.

This was just an idea for consumers to come and explore different trades on the trade floor. This building has been a part of Chicago landmark history, turning 100 years old, and has appeared in “Farris Buller’s Day Off”, “The Dark Knight”, and more.

No great idea is possible without my team and partners making it happen. We came together to show Chicago that Jordan is home, and we hope everyone who stopped by experienced the space as intended, inspiring both the OGs and the future.
