[13-14 April 2026] Returning to the historic town of Český Krumlov for the first time since 2003, taking in its remarkably intact medieval layout, winding Vltava river bends, and grand castle complex dominating the UNESCO-listed old town. Twenty-three years later, walking these familiar cobblestone streets and iconic courtyards bringing a wonderful nostalgic memory. This visit also included a deeper look inside the castle’s rare architectural treasure: an authentic 17th-century Baroque theatre, featuring its original stage machinery, historical sets, and hand-painted backdrops preserved from the early modern era. 🏰🇨🇿

Vienna revisited 🇦🇹✨ (12–13 April 2026)

🏛️ Schloss Belvedere: 18th-century Baroque summer palace of Prince Eugene, built as an opulent grand estate and terraced garden complex to showcase his immense military prestige. Today, it functions as one of the world’s leading museums, divided into the Upper Belvedere (housing permanent art collections like Austrian masterpieces from the Middle Ages to today) and the Lower Belvedere (hosting major temporary exhibitions and historic state rooms).

✨ The Kiss: Gustav Klimt’s iconic gold-leaf masterpiece (1907–08) inside the Upper Belvedere, created during his “Golden Phase” using genuine gold leaf, silver, and platinum to capture an eternal, transcendent embrace.

So… I’m doing an honest review of my SWISS LX180 (ZRH–BKK) flight back on January 4th 2026 (after wrapping up my New Year trip), but please, Swiss, don’t ban me—I actually don’t hate you, I just don’t think First is worth the extra money for the upgrade. 🫠✈️

After Lufthansa mess-up on one of our earlier flight (MUC-OTP) forced a rebooking, my PNR got split. That meant only one of our two bid-upgrades cleared, so Mom and I had to sit apart. Their “apology” voucher? A minuscule 7,870 THB. Still side-eyeing that. 🤨

✨ The Good:
🚪 Closing the door into a private suite & electronically adjustable sunshades? Love.
🥂 The drink list is great, absolutely zero complaints here.
🚗 Tarmac transfer straight from the lounge to dedicated VIP border control with zero queue and to the plane.
💺 A super spacious, comfortable seat.
🍫 The post-meal tea pot and chocolate truffles.

📉 The First Class Fails:
🍽️ The food sucks. No caviar—just smoked salmon (very Business). Everything was aggressively salty, and the roasted chicken was so dry it felt like chewing paper.
🧀 The cheese tragedy: January’s Ticino theme meant 6 cheeses and not a single soft or blue cheese. Heartbreaking. (Thai Airways Business serves better food, just saying.)
🧴 The amenities: Sisley? For First? I expected La Prairie.
⏰ The service: Crew forgot to hand out pajamas (had to ask), and—worst of all—completely forgot to wake me up for hot breakfast before landing.
