The Dream Team strikes again💞!! Back from an incredible trip to Japan combining food, culture and hiking, exploring the Tokoku region of Northern Honshu followed with a ferry ride over to Hokkaido to continue the same. @dee.rani, @reggienutguru and I were incredibly grateful to Rani’s dad, Terry and his wife,Yoko for organizing the whole trip. We got to see Japan beyond the tourist paths. The hiking was challenging but fantastic. We experienced all types of accommodation from simple hotels to lovely ryokans in remote locations. And ending with an onsen soak at the end of each night was a joy!! Of course, the food….from the incredible egg sandos at 7-11 to the most unctuous bluefin tuna bowls in Oma…..each little area had a regional specialty begging to be tasted and savoured. #japan #tohukoregion #hokkaido by @micp8167

The final weekend of our trip was spent in Madrid with my good friend, @ana_otero_castrillon. Our friendship goes back many years and my very first trip to Madrid was to visit her back in 1992, the year of the Expo in Seville. Hampi!!! My 3 day solo trip here was a perfect monsoon escapade. I had the site practically to myself. This renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the magnificent capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Its’ remnants now occupy a surreal landscape of paddy fields and incredible rock formations. Well, that was fun!! 2 weeks exploring Belize…..hiking, snorkelling, cave kayaking, spelunking and we even made it across the border to Guatemala for the amazing Mayan ruins at Tikal.
