Wisdom Kaye got known for wearing whatever his comments dared him to wear. A whole series started with strangers typing a sentence.

So go back through your comments. Look for the question people keep asking, the thing they want you to try, the joke somebody made that was better than your caption. Any of those can be next week's post.

And when you like someone else's video, say something specific about it. People notice, and now and then a comment turns into their next idea.

You don't need a whole Halloween series. One post is plenty.

Take whatever you normally make and do the Halloween version. A recipe account makes a snack that looks gross and tastes great. A money account walks through the scariest line on a bank statement. A fitness account works out in costume and regrets it by minute three.

The theme is already picked for you, which makes this one of the easier weeks of the year to post.

Halloween is about two weeks out and there's a lot going on.

Sam and Colby are bringing Hell Week to Netflix. Reese's is picking the best trick-or-treat street in the country and announcing it October 21. Twitch is running Stream-o-Ween all month. Spirit Halloween put out its costume predictions, and yes, one of them is mostly boxers and Crocs. And Twix brought back Zombie Claus with $20,000 in prizes.

The details are on the slides. If you've been meaning to make a Halloween post, any of these is an easy place to start.

Three creator campaigns launched in the last few weeks, and every one of them started long before anybody signed anything.

Burger King built a campaign out of a taste test it never paid for. Rhett and Link had already run a Good Mythical Morning segment checking whether Whoppers from different locations match. The chain's answer, reported September 10: a sponsored episode, three spots and a two-week channel takeover.

Shark Beauty put Claudia Sulewski on its Celestial Skies limited edition, announced September 25. Her line in the brand's own release is that she has "been using and loving Shark Beauty tools for years."

Steve Madden launched its "Alter Egos" Halloween campaign on September 21 with Azzy Milan in six personas. She told Footwear News the brand was "a huge supporter of me in the beginning of my content creation journey."

Different categories, same casting method. Nobody went shopping for a stranger with the right numbers. They went back to the person who was already in the room, already using the thing, already making the joke.

So the fun homework: post about what is actually on your counter, in your closet and in your drive-thru bag. Tag it. Do it again next month.

Your next brand deal might already be sitting in your camera roll.

Five brands just handed creators the keys. Here is who got them, and what to steal.

Burger King first. Rhett and Link once ran an unsponsored Good Mythical Morning taste test on whether Whoppers from different locations really match. Burger King's response, reported September 10, was to make it the campaign: a sponsored episode testing the Whopper Guarantee, three spots on YouTube and connected TV, and a two-week takeover of the channel.

Then the glow-ups. Shark Beauty announced its Celestial Skies limited edition on September 25 with Claudia Sulewski, who says she has "been using and loving Shark Beauty tools for years." Steve Madden launched "Alter Egos" on September 21 with Azzy Milan playing six Halloween personas, from Office Siren to Disco Baby. She told Footwear News the brand supported her at the very start of her content journey, and that it "feels very full-circle."

Now the weird one. For Australia's AFL and NRL Grand Finals, Snickers took "Feed the Trolls" to Twitch: an extension that catches a hangry comment before it posts and tells the sender to go eat something, on streams from Nalopia and midbeast. The ad lives in the chat.

And an open door. On October 2 KitchenAid launched the Makers Club, an ambassador program for US creators 18 and up. It says it is weighing "a range of factors beyond follower count," and it is free to apply.

The pitch that worked this fall was not a pitch. It was a post.

Your follow list is research. Yes, scrolling counts.

Every creator you like is running an experiment in public. What they open with, how long they hold a shot, which series they bring back every week. It's all sitting there to study, and none of it is a secret.

So follow on purpose. Pick a few people far outside your niche, because a cooking show can teach a fitness account more about structure than another fitness account will. When something stops your thumb, ask one question: what is the format here? A fixed day. A running count. A borrowed genre. A before and after.

Then borrow the structure and leave their jokes, their footage and their words right where you found them. The fun part is seeing what the same shape does with your material.

Watch like a fan. Take notes like a producer.

Five follows for the week, and not one of them is a marketing account.

Boman Martinez-Reid, Bomanizer on TikTok, cuts tiny household moments like a reality show, complete with dramatic previews and enormous reactions. Borrow a genre people already know and pour your niche into it. Max Miller at @tastinghistorywithmaxmiller makes one promise and keeps it every Tuesday: a historic dish and the story behind it.

@dudedad runs two lanes under one name, family sketches and backyard builds, so either one can carry the week. Drew Michael Scott at @lonefoxhome built a channel on DIY that looks expensive, then turned the makeover of his own shop into a series. And @hellahgood9 has run every day since May 2017. The streak is the show, and right now every upload is a numbered marathon-training week.

Notice what they share. You can describe each one in a single sentence, and each one hands you a reason to come back next week.

Watch for the format. Keep your own material.

Two Grants, one stage. It has somehow never happened before.

On Tuesday, October 6, the 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards take over Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and Amy Grant and Natalie Grant will share a stage for the first time, in a tribute to Dolly Parton.

The rest of the night is just as stacked. This year's theme is "Together For One," and the lineup took it literally: Brandon Lake performs with country star Lainey Wilson, Tye Tribbett and Hope Darst are on the bill, and Elevation Worship plays from the Ryman Auditorium. The presenters include Chris Tomlin, Shawn Johnson East, and two cast members from The Chosen.

Not in Nashville? You are still invited. The show airs on TBN and the TBN+ app Friday, October 9 at 7:30 and 10 pm ET, with an encore the following Friday, October 16. That is a built-in watch party, a reaction video and a "who wore it best" carousel, all from your couch.

The best seat in the house is the one with good wifi.

October is basically one long group chat, and these are the five rooms everyone will be posting from.

It starts this weekend. ComplexCon turns ten in Los Angeles on October 3 and 4, with Playboi Carti and Hiroshi Fujiwara sharing artistic direction, a food festival, and a ThriftCon with around a hundred vintage booths. Then New York takes over: Advertising Week runs October 5 to 8 in the Penn District, and this year it named Dhar Mann its first Chief Creator Officer. His goal is to help spark $100 million in new creator and brand business. There is also an invite-only Creator Karaoke night, which tells you how the ad world is feeling about creators right now.

Tuesday, October 6 belongs to Nashville. The 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards hit Bridgestone Arena with Brandon Lake performing alongside Lainey Wilson. If you are not in the building, it airs on TBN and the TBN+ app Friday, October 9 at 7:30 and 10 pm ET.

Then New York Comic Con turns 20 at the Javits Center, October 8 to 11, with a Coney Island theme, a Spider-Man world record attempt and a cosplay championship. Friday and Saturday are already sold out. And October 23 to 25, LightBox Expo fills the Pasadena Convention Center with the artists behind your favorite films, games and animation.

You do not need a badge to show up. You need a take and a posting plan.
