Lorena Spurio (@___wabisabi) è un’illustratrice e fumettista nata a Reggio Calabria, che negli anni ha vissuto tra Roma, Madrid, Barcellona, Torino e Milano. Arriva all’illustrazione dopo gli studi in lettere e storia dell’arte, per poi perfezionarsi con il Mimaster Illustrazione di Milano. Il suo immaginario si muove tra il corpo femminile, i piccoli momenti imperfetti del quotidiano, il mare, la luna e i gatti, con una linea morbida e scenari sospesi che sembrano fermare il tempo. Il suo lavoro editoriale è apparso su testate come The New Yorker, The New York Times e The Financial Times, e nel 2023 è stata premiata a Posterheroes con il primo premio.

Per chi vuole scoprire le sue illustrazioni dal vivo, l’appuntamento è venerdì 9 ottobre, dalle 18 alle 21, da @microartshop.it a Roma. Lorena sarà lì per incontrare il pubblico e firmare le copie di “Interno notte”, disponibili in tiratura limitata.

Just One Day è il ciclo di mostre dalla durata di un giorno nato dalla collaborazione tra Collater.al e MICRO.

Ogni volta, un illustratore emergente diverso esporrà per un solo giorno negli spazi di MICRO un artwork inedito, realizzato esclusivamente per l’occasione.

Il primo appuntamento di Just One Day è questo venerdì 9 ottobre con protagonista Lorena Spurio (@___wabisabi), che sarà presente all’evento. Il suo artwork “Interno notte” sarà acquistabile in tiratura limitata e firmata.

The Roman nasone is one of the city’s most beloved icons. These cast-iron drinking fountains provide free, fresh water throughout Rome.

Named nasone (“big nose”) after their distinctive curved spout, they have become a symbol of the city’s generosity, history, and everyday life.

This week, we’re celebrating the work of @julietaarlia, an Argentinian artist who beautifully captured the charm of Rome’s nasoni in this illustration.
