Why can’t you drink alcohol whilst on metronidazole? 💊

Metronidazole may interfere with how your body breaks down alcohol.

This could cause a build-up of a substance called acetaldehyde, potentially leading to:
• Nausea and vomiting 🤢
• Facial flushing
• Headaches
• Fast heartbeat
• Dizziness

NHS advice: Avoid alcohol while taking metronidazole and for 48 hours after your last dose. by @micropharm
