Join us today at 4pm for the launch of the catalogue for “Pressure: architecture, process and the print studio” as well as the closing party for the exhibition.

Painstakingly created by Micropolitan Studio and with graphic design by Willis Kingery, the catalogue features photography by @maja_baska_photography an introduction by @goodwin_kate interviews with @a83_inst @chibbernoonie and @polylinepress along with essays by @micropolitanstudio and @kev_kev_kevvv documentation of the Polyline to Print workshops and work by all the participating artists and architects:

PRESSURE closing event: July 24th 4pm. Please join us for the launch of the Pressure Exhibition Catalogue. Limited copies will be available.
At 4:30pm we will be demonstrating screenprinting using the screen featured in the exhibition, followed by a small exhibition of prints produced during the Polyline to Print workshops in the Tin Sheds Gallery from June and July.
We will then be celebrating the closing of the exhibition with some light refreshments from 5pm (for a small donation). This event is open to the public.

Join us this Friday to close out the Pressure: Architecture, Process and the Print Studio at the Tin Sheds Gallery.

We'll be launching the catalogue of the exhibition at 4pm - with a limited number of quantities of the 48page book available.

Also featured will be prints from the two Polyline to Print workshops held inside the exhibition over the last month so come by to see the amazing print work produced by participants in those workshops.

We'll also be having a live demonstration of the screenprint screen exhibited in the exhibition and will have some limited edition posters available for a small donation.

Some light drinks will be available from 5pm.

This event is open to all, and will be the last time you'll be able to see the excellent show curated by @micropolitanstudio featuring the amazing work of @a83_inst (and many other featured architects + designers) before it closes.

The curtain, made from screen printing mesh, separates the process wall and the workshop space from the main gallery, creating moments to look through the transparency and glimpse at the workshop space and the works in process

Slide show projection for PRESSURE exhibition. (Up until July 24th)
As part of our research, we looked into the history of Tin Sheds and archival photos from 1980’s. Researching the role of the print studio and spaces of making in education, experimentation and creating a vibrant community…the messiness, the textures, heavy duty machines, the tools, books, sketches, test prints, and more importantly the choreography of people moving through the studio. PRESSURE, Architecture, Process and the Print studio acknowledges the workshop space as a more vibrant public space and as a social infrastructure.

 PRESSURE investigates printmaking as both an artistic medium and a rigorous pedagogical tool, where the deliberate slowness and labour-intensive mechanics of craft are made visible through the physical actions that define the medium and the workshop: separation, reversal, pressure, and repetition. Elevating the often-overlooked mechanics of process allows the final works to be experienced alongside sketches, videos, and tools that define them, bridging the gap between analogue craft and digital tools.  The exhibition continues till July 24.
