Human “rights” are based off responsibilities God gives human beings per his law. Weapons (not just guns) are tools people can use to discharge their positive responsibility to uphold the 6th commandment and honor God by defending human life. Normatively you can’t stop someone from murdering people unless you can do what it takes to stop the person breaking Gods law regarding murder using lethal force when necessary. That’s why cops are armed, also why the military is armed instead of running around holding hands and singing kumbaya.
