Chaturangas aren't always fun or even doable and when that's the case or you just want something different, give Sun Salutation C a try.

This sequence simply swaps out the chaturanga for a child's pose. I also added in a round of cat and cow into Childs pose for a little extra warm-up.
When you flow it up to cobra you still get to have fun with it but now you aren't killing your shoulders.

When you float forward:
* draw your chest forward not up
* draw your shoulders back
* your arms "assist" they don't lead
* move slow enough you could stop at any point

Give them a try now or save for later 😉 by @midcoastyoga

Because it will change the course of your whole life 🦋

To think I only went because I was invited.
I had no interest in yoga and like everyone else I thought it was just about "stretching".

Throughout that 1st class I had NO intention of coming back. I felt like I was fumbling around the whole time on my mat. Focusing on deep breaths at the end was a little weird but nothing really prepared me for "corpse" pose. I remember lying there wanting to run out of the room 😆

But.......
When we got up, it hit me. Something remarkable had happened because I felt so much lighter and calmer. I had never been able to feel myself breathe that deep before.

And that was it.
One class. One decision. One moment in time that catapulted everything else ❤️ by @midcoastyoga

Nature heals.

My best piece of advice for those
with heavy hearts and racing thoughts
is to go out into Nature ❤️

Find and stake a spot that you love.
A spot that feels like home.
That brings you peace.

And then visit it often ✨️ by @midcoastyoga

Be a REBEL.

Slow down, resist the urge to rush.
You'll be much happier 😌 by @midcoastyoga

This wasn't easy, a little wobbly even, but it sure felt good! Sometimes all you need to feel alive is to put a little spin on an old favorite 😍 by @midcoastyoga

Ever notice the difference in energy between sun & moon salutations? Ooooh I just LOVE all of the cool lunar energy of the moon ones!

If you are a big fan of moon salutations, give this flowy version a go and you'll find yourself in full meditative bliss ☺️ I had to create something a little different for those who wanting a little bit more in class and they have become a staple. by @midcoastyoga

Mindbody connection is very real.

How you show up in one, you show up in the other.
If you have a calm practice, it calms the mind.

Lift weights in the gym for a while and you'll start to feel like a complete badass.

The opposite is also true. If you think certain kinds of thoughts, they can change how you feel in the body, even things you probably never thought of before.

As a yoga teacher, when I am trying to get my students through a challenging balancing sequence, I often tell them to think 'soft' and watch how gentle the body moves for you from pose to pose.

The best way to really start to foster this connection?
Start to notice how your feel after you do some kind of movement, eat something, even go somewhere 🌇 by @midcoastyoga

When you're over 40, never ever hop in the car after a hike.....just don't do it 😑 Stretch! Taking a minute or two beats a pulled hamstring everytime! by @midcoastyoga

This girl was so sweet.
Studio manager 💗
Lover of music 🎶

But she also,
Bit her tongue.
Played by every rule.
Thought it best to always be nice.
And live small.

Lived in a metaphorical box.
Never questioned what was on the other side.

Until one day, she did. by @midcoastyoga

Not the way you probably think a yoga teacher prepares for class but, oh well, here we are 😂 by @midcoastyoga

If you think you love Savasana now, try it out with a furry friend and It's even better 🥰

This is Lana, she is our studio mascot
and also makes one amazing therapy dog.
I love her. Clients love her ❤️
She makes yoga class and
the world a better place.

And for that I am so thankful! by @midcoastyoga

You are the light ✨️
