POSTS STORIES REELS

Another month, more of me - you lucky followers ❤️

An up and down time of family visits, friend catch ups, bad back and the brutality of job hunting 😖

Thankful for my supportive and funny family and friends.

Struggled with some dark times of ghosting and rejection, and avoided seeing friends at times to avoid being asked how job hunting was going...

Looking forward to October's new job starting, and to finding other bits and pieces needed to top up the salary (if you need, or know anyone who needs, a few hours admin here and there, let me know 😀 🙏)

Me a few weeks ago grabbing a PB deadlift and me today icing and heating my sore back, that just "went" yesterday morning out of the blue.....

Hasn't happened for a long time, thankfully, and what I've noticed this time is that my strong glutes and legs are really helping me much more than they have with previous lower back failures.

They're keeping me much less debilitated and able to be more mobile than I was in my 20s, 30s, and 40s with a bad back.

Keep doing that strength training everyone - it helps even when you're benched rather than bench pressing ❤️

The garden is looking lush again with the rain 🤩
Dahlias, asters, snapdragons, passion flowers, caladiums, radish pods and of course..... courgettes!

So beautiful to step outside into the rain and the rainbow of colour ❤️🤍💜🩷❤️💚

If you have any courgette recipes, they will be gratefully received 🙏

Thank you to @strengthboxbristol @coachingwithjk for another fab women's weightlifting course.
Ended with a high of 77.5kg deadlift - thanks for all the encouragement and general loveliness at this special gym 🏋️‍♂️ ❤️ 🏋️‍♀️ by @middleagethread

We tried to find a many ways as we could to watch the eclipse:
Cat food box pinhole viewer
Colander and paper
Garden sail sun shade reflection
Reflection in the house windows viewed from the garden as the light became eerie
Watching online

The cats' contribution of food box was much appreciated 👏

Didn't quite make 8 but had a fun trying!

Such a beautiful little creature visited our garden 🦋

A beehawk moth - not sure if broad or narrow - hovered and drank from our salvia twice this evening!

What a privilege to see ❤️

Looked just like a tiny hummingbird - so speedy and silent 🤫

Having been a long time knitter (in English right hand throwing style that I learnt as a child) - I've decided to learn the continental left hand knitting technique while on holiday.

It's slow and awkward but I can see how it will be quicker and smoother - and less dramatic with no sweeping arm circles (do I want to be less dramatic in my knitting?!) - once I've mastered it......

Any tips?!

Wish me luck!!

Garden makeover Part 2.....

Added plants to the main bed - covered brassicas temporarily to #stopthepigeons - fleece once they're a bit bigger so they don't cook before harvest!

Extended shady bed with ferns and hellebores ❤️

Begun the big lawn cover up, slowly slowly - edging as I go so it can be woodchip covered - which smells lovely and will hopefully be more of a bug home than a slug refuge 🤞

Woodchip super cheap from lush @growwilderawt thanks to @marthajanewildlifegardener
