POSTS STORIES REELS

A fancy bunny, a medieval beastie, and the three sisters crops. Thanks Christine and Ben for coming up! This is the final post from the summer season. Thanks to everyone who came out to the woods to get tattooed! It was a very successful, if a little chaotic, first summer. I’ll be sending messages out to the advanced booking list for next Summer soon!

A fly and reel for Peter, a spider spinning a web in freehand flowers for Edward and olives for Peter (yes two Peters). They came up for a weekend on the property with their friend Johnathan. The four of them piled into the cabin, played in the woods, took trips into town and generally made the most of their time at Middle Son. It was so great having them and I’m so happy with how their tattoos turned out!

Swipe to the end to see a peek behind the curtain of how this freehand this freehand piece was made for Yvonne over the course of a weekend at Middle Son! We made a transfer for the rose blossoms, and freehanded the grapes using ones we found growing on the bridge for reference.

This group of four gents came up for a friends weekend of tattooing. I think they very much understood the assignment of Middle Son. They played in the woods, joined us for a bonfire, and explored the surrounding towns. And after all that @pecanzvideo sent me this video he made! I’m stunned by how lovely it is. I’ll post all their tattoos soon, but wanted to put this out into the world.

For his first tattoo Ryan wanted to start a full sleeve. Here’s the beginning of it! All freehand, done over the course of a great weekend on the property. Ryan is a technical diver and had so many amazing photos and videos he took on his adventures.

Another PYO (pick your own) tattoo! Everything but the tufted titmouse was drawn from life using things that Ben found on his walks around the property. Pretty good progress towards a patchwork sleeve! Swipe to the end to see the drawings and some of the items.

Another PYO tattoo! These freehand knee pieces for Niamh wrap a bit, so make sure to swipe through and see all the details! Every element was found on the land, and most of it I drew from life. The bug was from a photograph that Niamh took on the property.

Added some flowers to Taylie’s arm. One arm is a love letter to her Japanese heritage, the other to her family’s history in Hawai’i.

Make sure to swipe through to see all angles!

Amelia came up to the shop for a weekend to add to her patchwork sleeve. The garlic, mushrooms and snake were already healed. Some of what we added was picked from the property, some was made up (although we do have some mice around…)

The first PYO (Pick Your Own) tattoo experience of the summer! Irina went straight to the stream to find the ferns. We then drew the design on using the ferns for reference. Want a completely unique tattoo drawn from plants you collect on the property? Check out the details for this type of appointment on our website middlesontattoo.com

I need to set up some better lighting for photos in the studio, we finished this pretty late at night so outdoor photos weren’t an option.
