No offense, Diana, I know you’ve been through a lot. But man, what a miserable character. 🫩

Diana really is the June gloom in Don’s life. A seasonal phenomenon bringing overcast skies and blocking out the sunshine for a significant period of time. A dark and foggy atmosphere to feed his dark and foggy conscience. Maybe the gloom will stick around? Maybe he doesn’t need sunshine the way everyone else does? Maybe he wants to be the sun for someone else, but not himself? The grey is comforting, familiar, good for projecting his ghosts. But it’s June gloom, it’s temporary. It’s just clouding the path forward, to California and Dick Whitman, and then back again. Or maybe it’s simple and he just needed a Coca-Cola.

I loooove workplace comedies and dramas — Parks & Rec, Mad Men, Superstore, The Pitt, and 30 Rock are a few favorites. 💫 But I realized there’s a dumb sub-genre that I also love and that’s one where EVERYONE IS BAD AT THEIR JOB. 😮‍💨

I was listening to Nick Offerman’s interview with @audreybentham on @nprfreshair a few weeks ago, and I saved this line in my notes app because it seemed like an apt ethos for Offerman — a line that could be on a statue or bust of him. 🖼️ So I drew a couple options because why not!
