Had the pleasure of joining Radio Africana’s Saturday Breakfast Show with @on_air_personality.

We talked about my journey, the inspiration behind my music, and even played a few games along the way.

I’m grateful for the conversation and the opportunity to share my story.

Swipe through for some highlights from the interview. If you’d like to hear the full conversation, the link is in my bio. ❤️

MIDE PHRESH IS BETTING BIG ON HIMSELF

In our latest feature, @midephresh isn’t sugarcoating the reality of being an independent artist in the diaspora. We linked up with him to talk about the story behind his new single “Picture Perfect,” finding peace amidst the hustle, and how the UK environment shapes his stories without ever erasing the Naija boy in him.

Picture Perfect is finally out 💙

I took my time with this one and was very intentional about everyone I worked with on the project.

Funny enough, @atomicsounds_ sent me the beat a long time ago, but life and work got in the way and I never had the chance to record on it. Fast forward a few months later, I finally found the time, recorded the song and immediately knew I had something special.

When I went back to Atom to sort out the beat and get the stems, things weren’t exactly straightforward as he said someone else already recorded on it and this person was his neigbour and that there were other plans being discussed for it.

After a lot of conversations and back and forth, he still chose to back me and make sure I could bring this song to life. For that, I’m genuinely grateful. I don’t take that kind of support or relationship for granted.

Big shout out to @just_su_thanks_ and @missssssyyyyyyyyyyyy as well for completely understanding the assignment and to my guy @lekksite for bringing the visualiser to life despite the tight budget and crazy schedule. I appreciate you both.

I’m just happy this song is finally out in the world and not sitting on my laptop anymore. Every release feels like I’m sharing another piece of myself, and this one is no different.

To everyone still supporting me, streaming the music, reposting, sending messages and checking in, thank you. I see it all and I don’t take any of it for granted.

We’re entering a season of back-to-back music, so stay with me. There’s a lot more on the way.

But for now, let’s enjoy Picture Perfect 💙
