Happy 100th birthday in heaven to my beloved Shamu Abu. ❤️

Ten years ago, I traveled to Pakistan to surprise you for your 90th birthday. I wish I could surprise you again, hug you, and celebrate this milestone together. Since you left us in 2018, Pakistan hasn’t felt the same without you and I haven’t been able to make myself go there.

I miss you every day, and your guidance still shapes my decisions and gives me strength. Your legacy lives on through me and Aleena—in the values you taught us and the love you gave so freely.

You were my biggest fan, and I’ll always be yours. May Allah grant you the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. Forever loved, forever missed. 🤍 by @midhat83

Eid Mubarak!

Ramadan has come and gone, but its impact stays with us.

A month of discipline, reflection, and generosity leaves behind more than memories — it shapes how we show up as leaders, colleagues, and members of our communities.

Eid is a celebration, but it’s also a reminder to carry forward what we’ve built:
patience in challenges, empathy for others, and intention in our actions.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing — both personally and professionally — while staying grounded in these values.

Ramadan Mubarak 🌙

It’s that beautiful time of year where I’m fasting for the sake of Allah, working on my patience, increasing my gratitude… and still cooking full iftar meals I cannot taste. 😅

Nothing humbles you like standing over the stove, starving, making sure everyone else’s food is perfect, and seasoning based purely on smell and blind trust.

Also entering my annual phase of attending long work and school board meetings while fasting — where I’m fully present spiritually… but mentally calculating how many minutes are left until iftar.

Ramadan is truly a mercy though. It’s the one time of year that forces me to slow down, reset my intentions, and remember that everything we do is for Allah. The hunger, the thirst, the extra prayers, the late nights — all of it brings us closer to Him.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven.”

May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our shortcomings, strengthen our iman, and allow us to experience the sweetness of this month. May He give us patience in our hunger, sincerity in our worship, and barakah in our homes.

And please keep me in your duas… especially if a school board meeting runs past iftar. That’s a real test. 🤍 by @midhat83
