In the summer of 2011, 17-year-old Hugo Leclercq from Nantes, France, bought a Novation Launchpad after seeing an ad for it.

That same day, he sampled 39 of his favorite songs, mapped them onto the Launchpad, performed the entire mashup live in one take, filmed it, and uploaded it to YouTube under the name Madeon.

The video, "Pop Culture," stunned millions. With no visible edits, he seamlessly blended artists like Daft Punk, Madonna, Gorillaz, The Killers, Lady Gaga, deadmau5, and Michael Jackson into a single four-minute performance.

The video went viral within days and has now surpassed 55 million views, turning an unknown French teenager into one of electronic music's biggest rising stars.

Madeon later released Adventure, produced for Lady Gaga and Coldplay, and teamed up with his longtime friend Porter Robinson on the fan-favorite "Shelter."

It all started with one Launchpad, one camera, and one unforgettable performance.
