I never expected to become a dance mum, and I certainly never understood how much happens behind those few beautiful minutes on stage.

Watching Grace grow through dance has shown me she is learning so much more than choreography.

She is learning work ethic, discipline, memory, resilience and how to perform under pressure.

Sometimes routines are completely reblocked the day before, or even the morning of a competition, because dancers are sick. Positions change, formations change, and somehow these dancers adapt, remember and step onto that stage ready to perform.

That amazes me.

Because life rarely stays perfectly choreographed either.

Plans change. Things go wrong. We are asked to adapt.

Dance is teaching Grace how to breathe, adjust and keep moving.

Of course I am proud of the trophies and achievements, but I am even more proud of the qualities she is building along the way.

Her courage.
Her resilience.
Her work ethic.
Her adaptability.

Dance may be teaching her how to move beautifully across a stage, but more importantly, it is teaching her how to move through life. ❤️

Seoul days 🇰🇷✨

Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Lotte World, Lotte Aquarium, Seoul Children’s Grand Park, National Museum of Korea, Starfield Library, Mangwon Market, Korean BBQ, and plenty of visits to Lotte Mall for dinners at our apartment.

Family of four ✨

Saturday the 10th January was an unforgettable and unbelievable day. In the morning, we had a small family gathering to celebrate Otis’ birthday. By the afternoon, his baby brother decided to arrive at 37 weeks gestation 🤍
Everything went smoothly, swiftly and positively. We are all happy & healthy.

Highlights:

1. Our family now
2. Saturday 10th Jan 11.30am: Otis’ birthday party (me in early labour trying to hide the discomfort 😆)
3. Cake & candles
4. Welcome Leon - 4.52pm
5. Day 2

The Joan and Monica Halliday Awards 2025 ✨

From 17th - 20th March, I had the privilege of adjudicating students from Grade 3, 4 & 5 at the RAD Headquarters in Sydney. The talent blew me away!

On Saturday, I returned to adjudicate the finals at the Seymour Centre where 12 dancers took the stage to perform their solos. I was so impressed by the technical, musical and expressive standards they had accomplished in themselves.
It takes hard work, commitment & love for the art form to achieve such high standards. I can only imagine how proud their teachers, parents and carers are.

Congratulations again to everyone involved in this wonderful event & thank you to the @royalacademyofdanceaustralia for inviting me. I am so grateful and honoured 💐🌟 by @midorilotz

Our boy turns 1 today 🥹🎂✨

His party on Saturday was HUGE… as was his cake 😂🌈 🎂 he seemed to enjoy himself too, without really understanding what the commotion was all about.

We have had such a fulfilling year with him and are so lucky to have incredibly supportive families, friends and work places that have allowed both Matt and I to juggle away at this new parent gig in the calmest way possible.

I have already received many messages and phone calls which is so overwhelmingly kind. It’s incredible what impact a little one year old can have. Ha!

Otis, thank you for choosing us to be your parents. You make us laugh and smile everyday and have expanded our hearts more than imaginable. You are a gift that keeps on giving & we love you very much 💘
