Halloween. October 31st always and forever. by @midsummerscream
It may be November, but you KNOW how we roll, spooky kids! We have tons of haunt-hopping photos to bring you. Grab some candy, keep the Jack O’Lanterns lit, and enjoy some incredible Halloween goodness over the coming weeks! 🎃 Beware the Dark Realm is a cornerstone of the Santa Clarita Valley haunt scene. For decades, the Sivley family has thrilled and entertained thousands of fans from near and far with their incredible walk-through home haunts. This year, the experience was “Season of the Witch,” and the Realm team did not disappoint! Rolling up, the first thing we found was a fantastic burned-out façade — huge, and absolutely stunning. Those waiting in line were engaged by scareactors roaming the street in front of the haunt. And yes, there’s always a line at Dark Realm — SoCal knows what’s up, and people turn out in droves to check this beloved attraction out each year. Inside the haunt, a labyrinth of corridors and spooky scenes was filled with dark spirits and creatures better left in the shadows — nightmarish vignettes conjured up for 2026. The scenic elements, the jump scares, and the soundscape are always on point here. This year, Beware the Dark Realm partnered with VFW Post 8310, raising funds for Face the Fight and Stop Soldier Suicide. Many haunters opt to offer charitable donations and partnerships with various organizations and causes each year, and we applaud them all for their support and efforts throughout their communities — not just in SoCal, but everywhere across the USA. 🙏🏻 Huge thanks and kudos to the Dark Realm crew for having us out and whipping up some witchy fun this Halloween! . . #midsummerscream #halloween2026 #bewarethedarkrealm #homehaunt #santaclarita @midsummerscream @bewarethedarkrealm @socalhauntlist by @midsummerscream

Pumpkin Hallow Haunt is a spooktacular stop in Santa Clarita! It’s a visual delight that tends to expand and get better each season, this year being no exception. Oozing from the yard, the display has crept down the embankment surrounding the property and now features Sam’s rules of Halloween as mini billboards surrounded by grinning Jack O’Lanterns. That’s where the “Trick r Treat” IP begins and ends, as this home haunt is pretty much its own thing, save for a few “Nightmare Before Christmas” nods as well. Passing under a gorgeous cemetery gate, guests come to the main event — a graveyard filled with glowing gourds and playful spooks. There’s even a beautiful nod to the ol’ Hallowed Haunting Grounds in the mix of tombstones — IYKYK. 🎃 This display features MULTIPLE Jack O’Lantern-adorned trees, which make our dark hearts so happy! Throw in some lively skeletons and a crank ghost, and you have a full-blown Halloween masterpiece that’s not to be missed! If you’re visiting the SCV this weekend, don’t sleep on the Hallow! Follow them and also hit up @socalhauntlist for further details and more haunt info! . . #midsummerscream #pumpkinhallowhaunt #halloween2026 #homehaunt #santaclarita @midsummerscream @pumpkin_hallow_haunt @socalhauntlist by @midsummerscream
We hopped all the way over to the other coast to check out Universal Orlando’s HHN 35! While the houses were amazing, a huge highlight was actually the merch. If you hit up the Tribute Store, you can purchase an acrylic 35th-anniversary carousel display base. Then, throughout the season, you collect tab-and-slot diorama pieces of key characters to plug in and build an incredible centerpiece. (UPDATE: We're told this is also available at Horror Nights Hollywood, but with different pieces!) If you get the chance to visit both coasts, it’s fascinating to see how they tackle the same properties. Hollywood’s "Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness" house is an intimate dive into Osbourne lore, while Orlando goes massive with epic physical sets dropping you right into a "Bark at the Moon" graveyard and onto a hurtling "Crazy Train." For original IP, "H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!" was an absolute blast. Fun fact for us West Coasters: he’s a beloved returning 2011 character! In this sequel house, the late-night TV horror host escapes prison 15 years later to introduce schlocky, straight-to-TV Halloween films you walk right through. And the much-hyped Orlando icons certainly didn't disappoint. "Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control" delivered a bloody origin story—watching human killer Jack Schmidtt battle Dr. Oddfellow for the mystical Cane of Souls before transforming into Jack the Clown inside the neon-soaked “Oddverse” was incredible. 🤡 Huge thanks to the @horrornightsorl team for letting us experience their unique blend of horrors! #HHN35 #HalloweenHorrorNights #UniversalOrlando #JackTheClown #Bloodengutz by @midsummerscream

We’ve arrived in Southern California, THE greatest gathering of home haunts and phenomenal displays of creativity anywhere in the world! Sombras Cemetery in Santa Clarita is a gem in the treasure chest that is the SCV. This stunning walk-through yard display features scene after scene of skeletons going about their business in a decrepit old cemetery. Some vignettes are animated, others are static — ALL are fabulously staged and lit! The soundscape at Sombras is perfect; unsettling and moody. There are no jump scares here, no gore, and nothing horrific. Rather, Sombras Cemetery is an eerie realm of the undead — suitable for guests of all ages, albeit a tad frightening just because… cemetery and skeletons. 💀 One of the hallmarks of Sombras Cemetery is its deep, rich show lighting — theme park quality, and it remains striking year after year. If you find yourself haunt hopping through Santa Clarita this week, Sombras MUST be on your list! For further info, please visit @socalhauntlist for this and other amazing haunts around the Southland! . . #midsummerscream #sombrascemetery #halloween2026 #homehaunt #santaclarita @midsummerscream @sombrascemetery @socalhauntlist by @midsummerscream
It’s time to start sharing some of our home haunt-hopping adventures with you! Are you buckled up, spooky kids? Lots of SoCal content screaming your way shortly — with our Rick West now residing in Las Vegas, no doubt you’re noticing a little sin to go with our usual city content! Enjoy the bloodbath from both the Golden AND Silver states! Hernandez Creepshow is one of Las Vegas’ premier home haunts, located in the northwest part of the valley. It’s about a 20-minute drive from downtown, and approximately 30 minutes or so from the Strip. Now in its 7th season, Hernandez Creepshow incorporates two separate walk-through attractions at one residence (very patient, very cool neighbors), drawing visitors from near and far. One maze is themed to the “It” universe, taking guests through the sewers of Derry. The other is a descent into medical madness where the line between terror and insanity has been shattered. The talent throughout the home haunt (even sliders on the street) is superb — engaging, terrifying, and completely on point. The make-up, masks, and costumes are professional-level. Absolute passion and dedication to haunting are on full display, making this a MUST if you’re visiting Las Vegas during the spooky season. The polish of this production is impressive, and it’s made quite a name for itself in Southern Nevada. Be sure to check @hernandezcreepshow out for more info on hours and location. Not only are they tremendous home haunters in Nevada, they’re longtime vendors of spooky themed teas at Midsummer Scream as @get2steeping — part of our community for years! Check ‘em out, show them some love — and perhaps they’ll bring more than tea leaves to Midsummer Scream 2027! 🎃 . . #midsummerscream #hernandezcreepshow #get2steeping #halloween2026 #haunter @midsummerscream @hernandezcreepshow @get2steeping by @midsummerscream
Las Vegas Haunts has been a major part of the city’s Halloween screamscape for 28 years. From a small home haunt to a major attraction featuring two walk-through experiences — The Asylum and Hotel Fear — this is a fixture in Sin City for locals and visitors alike! The owner of the haunt, Rich Strelak, is no stranger to the haunted attraction industry, and is known and respected nationwide by folks running some of the largest haunts in the world. He’s a fantastic example of “living the scream” — he loves what he does, and the community loves him right back! Hotel Fear and The Asylum are located in the north parking lot of the Meadows Mall in the west-central part of the valley. By car, it’s about 15 minutes from downtown and about 20 minutes from the Strip. Definitely worth the drive if you’re in Sin City for some spooky fun! The story that Rich has created is a clever narrative that shares a detailed history between the two haunts and the property they rest on — head over to LasVegasHaunts.com to read up and to check date, time, and ticketing info. Also, check them out at @lasvegashaunts for additional tricks and treats! Each haunt is elaborate and carefully curated, populated by awesome scare actors — many of them have been with Las Vegas Haunts for years, which is a testament to Rich’s “family” approach to his team and the professional operation he runs. Huge thanks to Rich and everyone at Las Vegas Haunts for inviting us out — it was a great time checking out this legendary attraction! . . #midsummerscream #lasvegashaunts #halloween2026 #hauntedattraction #lasvegas @midsummerscream @lasvegashaunts by @midsummerscream
