So... what exactly is Midtown Radio? πŸ”₯ We're a not-for-profit community radio station. πŸ”₯ We create space for local music. πŸ”₯ We give local people a microphone. πŸ”₯ We document conversations about our community. πŸ”₯We connect artists, musicians, storytellers and listeners. πŸ”₯We believe local voices matter. That's Midtown Radio. Your community, your voice. Be a friend, and tag a friend. πŸ₯° by @midtownradiokw
Who listens to Community Radio? πŸ€” Community radio stations serve a distinctly different demographic than mainstream, commercial stations. While commercial radio relies heavily on a broad middle-aged commuter demographic, community radio reaches a highly diverse, hyper-local, and socially engaged audience. Many listeners rely on local radio's curated mix to find new songs or retro throwbacks without having to manually build or manage playlists. People who listen to non-profit stations are heavily involved in their immediate neighbourhoods. Roughly 74% of Canadians who are active in their communities tune in. Are you one? Tell us why local media matters to you. πŸ™ by @midtownradiokw

If you've ever discovered a local artist through Midtown Radio... If you've ever heard a conversation you wouldn't have heard somewhere else... If you've ever thought, β€œI'm glad somebody is doing this”... We're going to ask you to help us keep doing it. More on that in the weeks ahead. For now, just listen, explore, and discover. πŸ₯° by @midtownradiokw

Local musicians don't just need stages. They also need: πŸ‘‰ interviews πŸ‘‰ airplay πŸ‘‰ documentation πŸ‘‰ video πŸ‘‰ connections πŸ‘‰ listeners. Community media helps build that ecosystem. πŸ’― Tag a local musician! πŸ™ by @midtownradiokw
