Wisconsin Queso Recipe🧀

This recipe is wayyy better than traditional queso because it uses grilled brats and my favorite local Wisconsin-made Gouda and Havarti!

Ingredients:
1-8oz block of cream cheese
1-12oz can of evaporated milk
1- 6oz block of Gouda Cheese, shredded
6 grilled brats cut into bite-size pieces
1-6oz block of Havarti Cheese, shredded
2-10oz can of diced tomatoes & chilies
Cilantro

Directions:
1. Add all the ingredients to a bowl. Mix together.
2. Add to a cast iron skillet and heat on the stove or in the oven until everything is melted.
3. Garnish with cilantro and serve with tortilla chips.

📍Sheboygan, WI

🍩1. Start your day at Sunday Dough Donut Shop
If you’re looking for some of the BEST donuts in Wisconsin, look no further!
The flavors are super unique and creative without being too sweet or over the top.

🎨2. Visit the John Michael Kohler Arts Center to see “A Beautiful Experience: The Midwest Grotto Tradition.”
The exhibition showcases grottoes, monumental outdoor sculptures that have played a significant role in regional art and culture for over a century.
It features work by one of the few known women grotto builders, as well as newly commissioned works by internationally recognized artists.
Part of the exhibition extends outdoors, evoking grottoes in nature and encouraging visitors to experience the many grotto sites found throughout the Midwest.
As the only institution in the world to collect artist-built environments, JMKAC continues to champion expansive creative practices.

🧀3. Have lunch at the Horse and Plow Tavern which has been open for over 100 years!
We’ve been told by a TON of followers that these are the best cheese curds in Wisconsin and honestly....they weren’t wrong!

🌊4. Visit the Sand Dunes at Kohler Andrae State Park
The sand dunes that border Lake Michigan are some of the BEST in the Midwest.
Pro Tip- Park in “Parking Lot # 2”. This is the quietest part of the park and you can directly access the boardwalk and sand dunes.

☕️5. Have an afternoon coffee at The Greenhouse Coffee Shop
The coffee shop is located inside an antique solarium transported from England and reassembled here in Wisconsin.

An ex-boyfriend once told me that “I needed to date Warren Buffet. Someone who was older. Someone who would go to bed early and someone who would take me out to nice restaurants.”⁣⁣

🏈We just got back from our first Packer Game and we’re headed back to have even more fun at the Lonestar Casino Tailgate!

🧀Wisconsin Hidden Gems:
📍LaClare Creamery in Malone, WI

If you’re like me and LOVE cheese and LOVE baby animals, LaClare Creamery is the place for you!
(Mike on the other hand thinks goats are creepy, so I’ve yet to convince him to get one as a pet.)
There’s over 700 goats onsite, along with a beautiful boutique greenhouse and garden center.
The absolute best part is the cafe and ice cream shop that features sandwiches, salads and other entrees all made with their own goat cheese that is made on-site.
Plus, the goat milk ice cream is super fun and unique.
Mike got the Mint Chocolate Chip goat milk ice cream and loved it!
They also offer self guided tours where you can see the cheese being made on-site.
Over 15 different types of goat cheese are made at their on-site factory.

📍Saint Francis Hermitage, located in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, is a serene religious community and culinary destination run by Nuns who live onsite.

🍎A central part of the restaurant is their organic farm, which includes an apple orchard and livestock. The nuns are deeply involved in self-sufficiency, growing their own vegetables and raising animals onsite.

🥗This farm-to-table philosophy is at the heart of their French restaurant, where the nuns prepare all the meals from scratch, using the fresh produce from their gardens and meat raised on their farm to create authentic, handmade dishes.

🥩Is there anything more Midwesty than a Raw Beef Sandwich AKA Cannibal Sandwich?!
🥪The Raw Beef Sandwich consists of Rye Bread, Raw Ground Beef, Pepper Jack Cheese , Raw Onion, Salt & Pepper!
📍Kuhtz General Store in Stone Bank, WI has been open since 1926 and is a local hidden gem.
👍🏻Jordan’s Review- Was it great? Nope.
Was it bad? Nope.
Would I order it again? Meh.
But it was definitely something fun and new to try!
P.S. Mike on the other hand really likes these and thinks they’re delicious.

🌸POV: You just planned the ultimate girls weekend in Lake Geneva, WI!

🏡1. Stay at @lodgegenevanational
The pool and outdoor area are perfect for relaxing and lounging.

Definitely get the steak and shrimp cocktail!

🚢3. Take a boat ride tour of the lake and gawk at all the mansions.

The tacos and nacho platter here are sooooo good.
We loved it so much we ordered a 2nd nacho platter for the group.

🚲5. Free e-bike rentals are included with your hotel stay so we took a scenic route around town.

A more upscale Italian dining experience with beautiful views of the lake.

💥Attempting to make the VIRAL Cinnamon Roll Ice Cream Cone….

I have no clue what I’m doing and I’m not following any recipe, so let’s see how this goes. :)

If you want to try it yourself here’s what you need:

-1 can of cinnamon roll dough
-Any of @hudsonville_ic Super Premium Pints!

Hudsonville’s Super Premium Pints have so many fun flavors to choose from, all with real milk and cream and extra mix-ins, and it’s hard to pick just one.

🥃Favorite Wisconsin Supper Clubs:⁣
📍HobNob in Kenosha, WI.
⁣
🌊This is by FAR one of the most scenic and picturesque Supper Clubs we’ve ever been to.
The restaurant is nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan so almost every table has expensive views of the lake.
PLUS, they’ve got a great patio to have drinks at before you eat dinner.
The decor inside is also SUPER retro and has a great 1950’s vibe.

🍋 We started the meal with Mussels cooked in White Wine, Garlic & Lemon.

🧅 I can’t NOT start my meal at a Supper CLub without ordering Baked French Onion Soup

🦀 For dinner, I got the Crab Cakes with Remoulade Sauce and Scalloped Potatoes

🍗Mike got the Duck with Sage Dressing and Orange Sauce.
