Just trying to document the little moments of my life so I have something to hold on to
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Life has been so busy, one doesn’t even know where to begin with an update. So instead, I’ll share the most important one to me (always and forever) of our girl Roxy who had her second free jumping experience a couple weeks ago.

The past 3 incredibly years of getting to know this sweet girl has been everything and more to me. She’s been my therapy, my tears, my love, and my hope after Amber passed away 2 weeks after rescuing Roxy. I am so grateful to have made so many good barn friends, all who have been incredibly supportive of our journey. Anyone who knows this girl knows my favorite thing about her is that she keeps me honest. I have so much to learn and re-learn, my bruises will have bruises by the time I get it right, but we will both be better for it because how else does one grow except through discomfort and challenge?

So, for now, enjoy my sweet nothing learning to be confident in herself with each jump, and being the wild, terrifyingly fast, free spirit that she is. taken in Pony Time At Lakewood Equestrian Center by @migoof

It was an exhausting weekend of moving and organizing, followed by unfortunate news, but I’m just thankful to have a supportive friend like @ashleyziencina to check on me in the little ways she does, and for running the 5k I made her sign up for with me but couldn’t make it to after coming down with all sorts of sickness, and for helping me move the whole immediately after the 5k.
.
I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better friend to always keep me on my toes and keep me in check. Thanks for always being blunt and letting me learn to be blunt back. I appreciate you!

This sweet soul doesn’t mind that I take pictures of him and will go on random adventures with me, even when it’s just to a random park to lay on the grass and look at the sky.
.
Sad to say we’re down one location because I got caught on my rooftop the other week and won’t be allowed to sneak up to this spot anymore. RIP my cute Koreatown rooftop :( I still love you! taken in Koreatown, Los Angeles by @migoof

Thankful for the people who have played a part in my life, for better or worse. Relationships are rocky, they’re meant to be. They challenge us in all sorts of ways. Although sometimes they challenge us negatively, we can still learn a lot about ourselves through those relationships, not to mention that we can sometimes be the ones negatively affecting someone else.
.
But that’s okay as long as we allow ourselves to be made aware of this when the time comes because we’re not perfect, we don’t have it figured it out and, let’s be real, we’re not some all knowing sage.
.
I’m trying to be more aware of myself, to be more conscious of how and in what ways I can better myself. I have role models who inspire me (like this lovely lady @mackenzie.rae.ki being one of them) and remind me to humble myself and to love myself. My life is not my own but a part of yours as well. We’re all a part of each other.
.
Been thinking a lot lately about relationships that have come and gone, and I genuinely hope you’re all well even if you never see or read this. It’s important to put out that love and forgiveness when you get to that point. It’s okay to make mistakes and to then learn from them. It’s okay to forgive yourself. It’s okay to forgive others even if you think they don’t want or necessarily need your forgiveness.
.
Just be kind to yourselves today. Be kind to yourselves tomorrow. Be kind to others and lift each other up, embrace each other, because life is hard and why try to fight this whole world on your own? taken in Bellingham, Washington by @migoof

Someone get me some tea stat. I definitely don’t drink as much as I used to, but six cups of tea a day was pretty excessive to be fair... But I could probably be in a six cups for today sort of a mood. taken in Narrative Coffee by @migoof

That 7am move-your-car-so-you-don’t-get-a-ticket struggle has got me feeling a certain kind of sleepy this morning. it did get me in the mood to take a walk, but I found myself walking to the coffee bar near me...
.
But it’s okay, in true LA fashion, I got matcha.
.
I also just overheard that someone’s close friend here is a personal chef for an Arabian prince. So. it’s been a solid morning. taken in Narrative Coffee by @migoof

Remember when I went to coffee shops all the time? Still love them, but I’m also loving finding good coffee in the most unexpected places like diners or bakery’s. I did find a Cafe Vita on Sunset that’s bringing back those good Seattle vibes but just haven’t been often enough to snap any good shots of it yet. @thedealydeal, you down? taken in Narrative Coffee by @migoof

When I moved to LA, I wanted to say yes to everything! I wanted to explore and find the corners that spoke to me, and I met some people who were gracious enough to share the corners that spoke to them. I met kind people, philosophical people, spontaneous people, and adventurous people. I’ve been so thankful for them.
.
But one person who surprised me the most, who I didn’t see coming at all, who wanted to understand and meet me where I was at, who now never misses a beat, is this one.
.
Cali is by far one of the kindest souls I have ever met, always loving, ever understanding, and will take care of his own whenever and if ever they need it. For almost 8 months he has let me lean on him when I felt weak, encouraged me to grow into the person I want to be by challenging myself daily, and has been a huge supporter of me developing my independence. He is many things. He is calm and rational, outgoing, spontaneous, considerate, unpredictably silly, and, most of all, he is humble and giving.
.
Cali is, by far, the best person I could have ever said yes to. And I’m so glad I did. I’m so glad I said yes to the little things with you because it led me to say yes to the bigger things. Thank you for your endless support, and for your patience as I develop my sense of security and independence within a relationship. You’re my rock, babe. taken in Huntington Beach, California by @migoof

One thing I would shout from the rooftops, despite becoming relatively quiet on social media about my personal life, is how wildly different my life has been this year compared to the past four years. Not only did I move to Los Angeles from Seattle, kick off my professional career with amazing people, find a studio apartment of my own, make new friends by actively saying yes to everything, and start freelancing with another group of amazing people... I met someone who makes my heart feel full.
.
It takes courage to open yourself up to others, to put your heart on the line and be honest with the people you love, whether they’re friends or someone significant to you. I’ve been deeply hurt in the past, repeatedly, on all accounts. It’s made me stronger, but it also made me stubborn and fearful. I steeled my heart. taken in Huntington Beach, California by @migoof

Moving to California on a whim the way I did was definitely and has definitely been a transition. I’m so thankful for the new and old friends who supported me as I sorted myself out; for the coworkers I met through the job I originally moved here for and who then patiently taught me about the importance of pacing yourself; for the community of neighbors at my new apartment who are watching out for each other’s safety and well being.
.
I don’t do a great job on keeping people up to date on my personal life, mostly because I’ve learned to really value living in the moment and being present. Not that I’m great at it but I’ve definitely gotten better. All of this has led me to be living a pretty private life, unintentionally and for better or worse. I’ll find a healthy in between sometime as I slowly settle into this new stage of my life. taken in Huntington Beach, California by @migoof

Missing the peace and quiet of this place something fierce right about now. Easily one of the most beautiful locations I’ve been to in terms of events and experiences with something happening around every corner but still being able to find a place to yourself that brings you peace.

It’s nice, that a place can bring you peace. A peace of mind, peace with yourself, or peace with the world around you. Even if it’s just one place, whether you’re in that place or that one specific place is a place you keep close in your heart; it’s amazing how much peace you can have just by immersing yourself into that place.

I feel like I’m always learning to be more at peace with myself. I need to allow myself more often to seek out and find that peace no matter where I am, because peace ultimately comes from within us... I guess I just need to stop and give in!

This quiet pool from Baja was definitely one of those peaceful places I could immerse myself in again. taken in Acre Resort by @migoof
