A visual story by Miguel R

What started as a small self-visual poem turned into a collaborative piece that grew bigger than me. It’s made up of the sights and sounds of my neighborhood — the things you see walking down. A reflection of what’s rarely represented. Some people might get it, some won’t. Maybe I hyped it up more than it is. Maybe I didn’t. That’s the thing about art — it’s all perspective. And even when we say it doesn’t matter how the world sees it, deep down we still want to be understood.

Big thank you to @evolutionofamelia for lending her vocals
Big bro @arte_mio_tat2 for pulling up in the ‘63,
My boy @jordanstillfading for cleaning me up always showing love and being part of the video,
The homie @vniceworld for the lil cameo???
That boyyy timbo for being displaying his vulnerability
everyone who gave feedback — I appreciate you.

Humbly,

🏡 Exploring my Tulsa neighborhood through the art of vectors has been a journey of both creativity and nostalgia. Each line I draw, each color I choose, it's all a tribute to the place I call home.

As I intricately map out the streets and landmarks, I can't help but reminisce about the memories made here. From El Ranchero where the whole street smells like Carne Asada to the street where I pedal my bike under the warm Oklahoma sun, every detail carries a piece of my story.

But this artwork is more than just a visual representation. It's a testament to my dreams and aspirations. Through graphic design and photography, I aim to capture the essence of this vibrant neighborhood and share it with the world.

I'm often asked why I'm so passionate about this. Well, it's not just about the art; it's about the people, the culture, and the potential for growth. It's about my future goals, like building that Marketing Agency and Clothing Store right here, contributing to the community's growth, and eventually pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or Neuroplasticity.

So, when you see this piece, know that it's more than just lines and colors. It's a piece of my heart, my dreams, and my love for this place I call home. 🌆💫 📷"

A few pics from a while back that I never got around to posting. But if you really think about it, what good are your flicks if they aren’t timeless?

This collection is super iconic to me—one of the best pictures I’ve taken to date. I reflect on the impact and the weight they hold.

Two artists that illustrate East Tulsa at its finest. One that leaves his mark on the walls, & the other that penetrates beneath the skin.

BTS of a project I’m deeply passionate about. Telling the story of a local business that came from humble beginnings and built something meaningful.

If you know me, you know wings my favorite food. To me, they always meant more than a meal—they meant breaking bread. Back when I was 7 or 8, my mom and I would clean motel rooms, and her boss would reward us with wings and fries. We’d eat ’em on the curb like we just won a championship.

That’s why this story means so much to me. I’ve been away from projects for a minute. I only come back when the story means something. If that means leaving bread on the table, so be it taken in Kings Way Wings Tulsa by @miguel_ism

“A Home Without a Home” began as a documentary I set out to create in the summer of 2025. Very quickly, I realized the uphill battle that comes with capturing people’s stories—and representing them with honesty, care, and respect. This is Alfonzo. I’m deeply grateful he trusted me enough to allow his vulnerability to be seen.

In the process of trying to bring this documentary to life, I found myself facing battles of my own. Life intervened. The project never fully left the drawing board. But that pause wasn’t failure—it was a lesson.

In 2026, I’m returning to this project with clearer intention, deeper insight, and a stronger understanding of execution. This isn’t about glitz or glamour. It’s about documenting real people, real lives—offering a glimpse into someone’s world, frozen in a moment of time.

I may not change the world, but I hope to spark something in those who watch. To represent the unrepresented. To be present where stories often go unseen.

Humbly,

A collab I never imagined could happen—but we made it happen.
Two of my favorite artists, who represent East Tulsa so well and who I can genuinely call solid friends, came together to create. Between busy schedules and life moving fast, we still aligned and made it work.

BTS from a shoot I did with @arte_mio_tat2 a few months back — shot on the handy dandy iPhone.

I’ve been away from the camera and editing for a bit, not because I fell off, but because I’ve been living life. Folks love to say “you needa lock in” or “you’re getting distracted,” but honestly, I realized I’d been doing a lot that didn’t support the vision. So I stepped back and asked myself:

What’s the why?
What part of this process actually feeds me?
What story am I trying to illustrate, and how am I going to deliver it?

I’m still answering some of those questions, but I cut out the fluff and got straight to the point. The vision feels clearer now. taken in East Tulsa, Oklahoma by @miguel_ism

“Handle With Care”

Inside every strong woman
lives a woman that needs to be handled with care.

I think most people never read those instructions clearly.
Look at the adversities you have faced—
they rushed you when you needed patience,
pressured you when you needed gentleness.

Still, the twinkle in your eyes glitters.
They took your kindness as weakness.
I took your kindness as strength.

Experiencing a love that makes you
