A PERFECT DAY OUT THERE !
.
I ran fearlessly and played my cards on a course that really suited my strengths as a runner.
I was patient and waited for the right moments to make my moves.
.
In the end, I finished runner-up behind my teammate @minoggioxx 🫂 Tks @hanstroyer for that few kms we share, and congrats on your race, just wow.
.

Only those who run this one, can truly understand how tough it is. It’s definitely not the kind of course that suits me best, but I like feeling uncomfortable and pushing my limits.
.
It was a very long day, believe me. But the race went just as I had planned. I was patient when I needed to be, and I knew to push hard when the opportunity came.

Had to take the chance to race the Gravel Nationals at home 🏠
.
Took me a bit longer than I wanted to get into the rhythm, and a crash just 10km in split the group and left me out of the front. But after that, things started to flow.
.
I kept moving up throughout the race and with 10km to go I was in a group of four fighting for 8th place… but then I “ran out of legs” 😂
.
Finishing just outside the top 10 in a field packed with pros can only be a positive.
.
That was a proper day out 🔨🥵 i finish sooo empty
.
Big thanks to my partner for the day @carvalhogoncalo3 for all the kms together and all the work trying to get us back to the front. I helped where I could, but by the end I had absolutely nothing left 😂
.
Now it’s time to switch the mindset — still got 2x 100km 🏃‍♂️races to go before 2027 😁😁😁 Its better to switch for some kms running now!
.
A huge thank you to the whole @aebttrio team and staff for allowing me to race as a licensed athlete season after season. Really grateful for all the support during the races and for making sure everything runs smoothly 🙏
.
@beatrizsimoeslopes finished as national vice-champion, bringing home another medal 🥈

9 weeks before CCC by @utmbmontblanc !
Key sessions, and some numbers.

After a busy end to the year, with lots of races and kilometres, the first few months of 2026 felt a bit strange. I was feeling pretty tired, so I decided not to push the training too much until June.
One of the hardest things when you live in Portugal — with great weather pretty much all year round — and you’re a professional athlete, is actually training less than you feel like. I kept things pretty chill, running around 80–120 km a week, and saved the best for when it really mattered 🙂

After Marathon du Mont-Blanc, the first few weeks, I really improved my aerobic base with flatter sessions and faster running. Then, after Bucovina, I switched the focus… more elevation, more kilometres in the mountains, and more race-specific work. Looks like it worked pretty well ✅ by @miguelarsenio_22

I have missed this!
20kms to shake off the rust 😂 by @miguelarsenio_22

I’m just a kid with a massive dream.

No coach. Just years of experience, built the hard way — through mistakes, obsession, sacrifice, and a relentless hunger to get better. No nutritionist. Just a kid who learned to cook for himself as a teenager because he had to.

I didn’t have much.
I had belief.

That same kid who, when he started trail running, was making €700 a month at Compal. A kid who would sign up for two or three races, buy a pair of shoes, and put whatever money was left into training camps, flights, races — anything that could give him a chance to compete abroad, against the best in the world.

Maybe there are more people in the same situation.
I’m not the greatest, but I’m not naive either. Lot of sacrifices, without my parents help. I had to work hard — in factories… working shifts night times
I’ve already lived the hard side of life. I had to fight my way through. No one carried me here.

There were months when, halfway through, I was already broke, but I never stopped.

In a country this small, where support is scarce and opportunities don’t exactly knock on your door, I chose to bet everything on myself.
I had one thing fixed in my mind: knowing my worth, and never selling myself short.
Some laughed — and there were many, given the audacity and scale of my dreams.
And even after dropping a “bomb” every single year, they still think it was luck.
Seriously? 😂

Every single time - ALL IN !
No safety net.
No Plan B.
And never, ever thinking about failure.

Life made me this way.
And the funny thing is… life has always been one hell of a show. Every time it pushed me to the bottom, I came back higher.

Every setback made me hungrier.
Every closed door made me kick harder ( And what a regret it must be for those who closed that door ).

Every time life tried to break me, I smiled at it.
Because deep down, I’ve always believed that this was meant to happen.
That the destination is already written.

And maybe the only thing we can do is embrace the journey — the victories, the losses, the pain, the beauty, all of it.

Because I’m still that same kid.

Still dreaming.
Still believing.
Still all in.
