The BEST last weekend @nycda !! 🦄 This year was such a tough one, not only because it’s senior year, but because I suffered an injury at the beginning of October. I fractured my fifth metatarsal, leaving me unable to dance for almost 3 months. I was so afraid that my body wasn’t going to work the same way anymore, but this weekend it proved that it is better than ever! This art has given me so much and I am so grateful to have lived this experience. For the first time, I was awarded a high score soloist and named an outstanding dancer for the weekend (🤗)! This convention has always given me a safe space to just be, and this year it finally clicked for me that it’s not about dancing for the awards, it’s about doing it for yourself. I had the most fun I have ever had, and coming back from an injury while also truthfully feeling so whimsy & joyful the entire time was AMAZING. I’m so excited to see what the future holds, See you at nattys 💋 (probably) by @mikaela.coyle

ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏᴍᴇɴᴛꜱ ᴏꜰ ʜᴀᴘᴘɪɴᴇꜱꜱ₍^. .^₎⟆ • • • To be blessed with an experience doesn’t even begin to describe my time in the jellicle tribe. The magical bond and love everyone created for one another has made this show my new favorite (truly, i listen to the soundtrack every day). CATS taught me so much about myself, both as a performer and a person. Learning how to compromise on my own wishes and immerse into my character was so difficult but so rewarding. I feel like I have fallen in love with performing all over again, and it is all thanks to the people I have met through this show. The Moments of Happiness I’ve gotten to share with all of my kitties is one I will forever and ever cherish. #pushpushforever Finally, I am so grateful to have experienced this show as my first at the @erie_playhouse and I am so thankful for the guidance and support from the directors, staff, and crew who supported all of us along the way; especially @lombardo_scenic_and_lighting for the incredible work on our set/lighting as well as in the cast, and @richardjefferydavis for directing us crazy cats. I had so much fun this year at NYCDA. This is such an amazing opportunity to learn from such talented professionals and i’m so grateful I got to experience this for a second year.
