The System You’re In My System Ibadan Promo 12” 1998

It was an odd decision (licensing issue perhaps?) to leave off the superior Atmospheric Vocal and Dub mixes from the recent reissue which to my ears were the best of the lot. So, only available on the original Ibadan promo seen here, and not available as digi? I was working at bang bang records in Bristol when this came through in very limited quantities and missed it back then, happy to finally be acquainted with this legendary Kerri Chandler / Jerome Sydenham production.

A little break from putting up events and pictures of records for a few days at least. For the cat lovers out there, here is our 2 year Bengal Yuki, he’s been out of sorts for a few days since returning from the cattery, but after some checks at the vets we are assured he is doing much better now.

Yuki means snow in Japanese in case you were wondering, he is a Snow Seal Lynx Bengal hence the name choice 🐈🤍🤍reply with pics of your kitty, I would love to see them.

What a night at Hot Buttered Soul x Soulworks. 💙

Big love to my special guests @sourdough_disco for playing a blinder, and huge thanks to all our friends for the support. And, of course, the @plougheaston faithful who kept that dance floor moving all night appreciative to the musical spectrum we’d packed in our bags.

Proper party. 🪩💙

💜🖤

Hot Buttered Soul X Soulworks. Twice a year. No more, no less.
So when we do one, we like to make it count.

No Soulworks for this one, but we’re very happy to welcome back @sourdough_disco to Hot Buttered Soul and the best party boozer in Bristol.🥳

Record bags loaded. Big speakers on. Expect a proper trip through multi genres — ass-shaking boogie, disco dust, bass-shakers, house bangers and darker edges…plenty of pressure for the dancers. 👯

Free entry. Come early. Stay late. Get loose

See you down the front 🤍🪩💯
