I’ve been doing a series of films for @blackdiamond since 2016. They started with a film called “The Lifer” about @russ_clune_lifer and @bookofsamuel wanting to shine a light on Russ. Then I did my most personal film that was about one of my oldest friends @boonespeed called “The Artist”. Then one on my friend @maria.cranor who cofounded Black Diamond and mentored dozens of people (or hundreds…) to be the best versions of themselves, called “The Mentor”. But the story leads to this- the first CEO and founder, Peter.
It’s been a year of chasing him around trying to keep up with him. It’s finally going out into the world today. And it wouldn’t have been possible without Rachel’s help. And all the amazing people that helped me make it. Thanks to all of you.

I come back here to reset, to remember how insanely sensible nature is, how it always finds a way. These places are protected by the @nationalparkservice , but there is so much land like this in the once protected bears ears and grand staircase nation monuments, and are now candidates for development. I’ve been visiting this place since the late 80’s. Been back quite a bit.
The only thing I can tell has changed is the 10 miles of road recently paved on the way in. But it’s still 30 miles of washboard dirt to get to the trailhead and a serious hot hike to get here.
I love this place, I’m incredibly grateful for places like this. It’s a sacred place. Would be really cool to leave it alone. by @mikecall

Who is the Mayor of Little Cottonwood Canyon?

Anyone who has spent significant time in LCC has run into these local legends. Both armed with super secret crystal-whisperer beta, scores of first ascents, knowledge of that great under appreciated problem just up the hill, and plenty of stories of Cottonwood’s past, Mike and Justin are both to thank for many climber’s intro to and love for the Canyon.

I’m back on a short trip revisiting Yangshuo, China. It’s amazing to be back here after almost 17 years! It’s incredible to see how much this place has grown and how much climbing has developed since my first visit in 2009. It has me reminiscing on the good times I had establishing a few routes that have now become modern classics.
