POSTS STORIES REELS

Five years ago today, on October 15, 2021, we released our self-titled debut album from The Lucid!

What started as an eclectic mix of musicians and friends making music together turned into something exciting, fresh, and uniquely our own.

A huge thank you to everyone who has listened to and supported the album over the years!

If you haven’t heard it yet, we hope you’ll check it out. And if you have, give it another spin! Even five years later, it continues to inspire.

Vinnie Dombroski • Drew Fortier • David Ellefson • Mike Heller

All four members of The Lucid also appear in the newly released horror comedy Bunker Heights, which also features music from the band!

Available now on DVD and Digital, Limited Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray.

So I woke up today thinking that I was gonna spend a nice day with my cats and my drumpad… then out of absolutely nowhere at 2:00pm I get a call from my buddy Dirk Verbeuren… he asks me if I’m in town tonight, and if I might know any Anthrax songs, and if I can fill in for Charlie Benante at 6:30pm tonight on the Maiden/Megadeth/Anthrax tour…. Well… I didn’t know any Anthrax songs on the drums, but I quickly charted two out, raced down to the Alamodome… sat in traffic and got thrown to the wrong place to park.. finally got inside, sat down with the guys in Anthrax for less than an hour… charted the other songs as they told me how the versions they play live are different from the album… and then went on stage in front of 56,000 people or whatever, and did my best... Holy crap! How the HELL did I get here?!?!

I have to thank Jon Donais, Frank Bello, Scott Ian, Joey Belladonna, Armando Aguirre, Paul Collis and all the Anthrax crew for having faith in me to be able to pull this off… and of course Dirk and Chris Jericho for vouching for me!!

I still have no idea what happened! Next time, I hope I get more than a few hours to try to learn the songs… and hopefully I would actually be able to move the drums into a comfortable playing position for me… but this is a night I will never forget! by @mikehellerdrums

There are only two shows left on this insanely successful Raven/Slackjaw Can’t Take Away the Fire US tour! It’s been a hell of a ride! For drum nerds: this song has every combination of left foot/right foot lead possible, with accents on either hand hitting with either foot… it’s absolutely batshit crazy to play precisely, but at the end of the day should just sound like a fast driving banger of a song… it wouldn’t sound the same at all if I would have stuck to right foot lead with the crash accents hitting with the right foot… would anyone like me to film a breakdown of this song? @official_raven_lunatics @slackjawx @officialtamadrums @meinlcymbals @czarciekopyto @inearz video by @brarshall by @mikehellerdrums

Tour is continuing to be awesome! There is a venue change tonight in Vancouver… we are now playing the Astoria Pub. Come on out and punch Dallas Soup in the face! @official_raven_lunatics @slackjawx #punchyourlocalyoutuber by @mikehellerdrums

TOUR HAS BEEN GREAT!! Thank you to everyone who has come out and supported so far. More dates coming up soon, check our flyer! Thank you @slackjawx for supporting #metal #raven #drums #drummer
