Historically, female rappers have fought against misogyny to reclaim their sexuality with their sonically salacious bars — and they’re not stopping. And they never should.

From 1920s dirty blues records like Lucille Bogan’s “Shave Em’ Dry” to “Hard Core” and “Ill Na Na” to “WAP” and “Pound Town,” pussy rap has long been ingrained in the history of hip-hop.

For my @popsugar debut and the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop, a love letter to my favorite subgenre and its uncensored matriarchs.

Kathryn Louise Posey, my Cutie—I love you more than words can truly explain.

My grandma was the epitome of a diva, dressed to the nines with her hair always dyed jet black. Not because she was afraid of aging, but because she was just that fabulous. When people hear “diva” they think over-the-top, but she was the opposite. Soft-spoken, delicate and yet still so dynamic. She was everything to me my whole life.

Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandma—going to church with her, tagging along while she nannied and cleaned offices, and spending the night at her house on her feather-filled pillows that always stuck me in the face. Being with her, no matter where it was, was everything to me.

Every memory of her is perfectly etched into my mind. The way she’d place a cross of prayer oil on my head, then take my ballies out before I went to sleep—even when I begged her not to because my mom would be mad at me. Calling her and hearing, “House of Beauty, this is Cutie,” or all the times she’d tell me she had some money for me and every time it was a $20 check I had to cash at her credit union. Those moments always made me laugh and reminded me of her love for me. I’ve always cherished them—especially now.

To be honest, it took me some time to write this. Part of me feels broken, but the other part of me is so happy my grandma is at peace, resting in the Lord’s arms and reunited with her baby girl again.

I miss her so much, already. I pray she stays close by me on all my days. All I am, I owe to you. I love you, forever. Your Little Cutie 🤍 by @mikeishadache

Here’s to one month at @stockx ✨ Been doing what I do best—writing words.

I started my role as Senior Copywriter right after my birthday, so some of the work is already out there, but I felt like I owed the moment more.

I’m so proud of the hard work that led me here. Storytelling has my heart and I’m beyond grateful to be in this space pushing the culture of sneakers and streetwear forward.

I can never say thank you enough to @joefreshgoods, @kerbito, and @carissaromain for believing in me from the beginning. I love y’all, dearly.

A few weeks ago I sat down with @knarlydb at @streetwearflea for a dope conversation about his journey —from working on the railroads in Toledo and styling MGK and Kanye to creating @wemidwestkids and @darrylbrwn and collaborations with Adidas and Hollister. Much like he says, the journey makes the story better.

Apparently, I had my first Nardwuar moment because I asked DB about him running track in high school and college and my cousin said who told you that the FBI? Lol

A special thank you to DB for sharing your time and mind with me and to @mrkingjd for tapping me for this conversation! Thank you to everyone who came out, I appreciate it so much!
