Sheep dance beneath a polka-dot sky,
While wheels, dogs, and dreamers go rolling by—
A bright little world where the rules don’t apply. by @mikejacobsart

Kisses on the Walkway over the Hudson

We stood beneath a sky of blue,
Where stars looked down on me and you.
We crossed the bridge through changing time,
And shared our kisses, sweet as wine.
The years rolled on, the river flowed,
Through every turn and winding road.
And still your hand fits into mine—
And still your kisses taste like wine.

The Lighthouses of the Hudson

The river was a ribbon, running silver through the night,
And the lighthouses stood watch there, keeping sailors right.
From Saugerties to Rondout, from Esopus down the line,
Their windows burned like beacons where the Hudson waters shine.

The keepers now have vanished, but still the river flows,
Past every steadfast lighthouse and every light it knows.
And when the Hudson darkens, you can hear the old lights say:
“Keep your course upon the river—we will show the way.”
