And just as quickly as it came, another San Diego Comic Con has come to an end.

There was something definitely different about this year. It seems like it went by much faster than usual, but also in a weird way, was much more laid-back.

There weren’t a ton of panels that we just had to get in to. There weren’t a
bunch of parties that we had to jump all over the Gaslamp to make, but I think in way it made me slow down and enjoy it all that much more. I found myself taking my time to enjoy the moment, in whatever I was doing. Whether it was walking the floor, having a meal with close friends or just chilling at the pool. Going into this year, I was tried to make a conscious effort to be as present as I could, in every moment and just enjoy it. I tried not to worry about what was next or how I was going to do all that I wanted to. Also, I tried to not look at my phone nearly as much as I normally would (didn’t always succeed), but it definitely made this Con that much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the memories SDCC, see you next year!!

On May 4, most people get joy out of celebrating Star Wars. Yeah, Star Wars is cool and all, but it doesn’t compare to the happiness and pleasure I get from celebrating the birthday of this beautiful woman. Another year older…But I know she’ll still take smug satisfaction in the fact that that she will always be younger than me…and won’t pass up an opportunity to tell me so.

Babe.

You make the painful times manageable.
You make the good times great.
And you make the great times incredible.

To some people he is Shannon. To others he’s McClung. But to me, he’s Champ. I’ve known this guy for 25 years. A quarter of a century. And in that time, he’s been a best friend to me, He’s been a confidant. He’s been a mentor. And it’s for those reasons and so many more that I’m honored to call that man, my friend.

When I first met Shannon she admitted, rather sheepishly, that she was not a Christmas person. Well, me being me and the lover of Christmas that I am… I had two options: one, realize it wasn’t going to work or two, try and convert her to my Christmas loving ways.

Happily, she was receptive to the Christmas spirit…to the point where she has almost surpassed me in her love of the holidays! Every year she’ll find some little cute thing for us to do. Last year was finding the Griswold Family Christmas lighting. This year, Prince St., Pizza was converted to Little Nero’s to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Home Alone!! it made for such a cute Christmas date, even if the set up was kind of ridiculous. 🤣🤣 by @mikekalinowski

A week late posting this, but …The Annual Bigelow/Kalinowski Christmas Kick-off has come and gone yet again.

It is a week that I look forward to all year long. Time to get out of LA, away from everything and kick off the holidays in the most festive way with my best friend.

I don’t know how many people are lucky enough to have a lifelong best friend like I have in Nate. Truly blessed to call this man a friend and a brother for over 33 years.

I’ve heard it said that you can tell a lot about a man by the company he keeps. I’m not sure how true this is, but if it is, I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by so many caring, loving, wonderful human beings.

Thank you all so much for helping make this old guy‘s birthday a very special day. Whether we saw each other in person or you reached out through texts, voicemails or social media messages, I got all your well wishes and I felt the love.

Thank you all for making this birthday so wonderful. It means more to me than you’ll know.

And to my Shannon… I don’t know how you do it, but every year you always out do the previous birthday celebration. I don’t deserve you, but I’ll never stop trying to live up to what you do deserve. by @mikekalinowski

Eight years… Somedays it seems so much longer than that, other days it feels like a blink of an eye.

But I can still remember that first date, eight years ago, just as vividly as if it happened last night. The nervousness. The excitement. The finding out that she hated sushi just as much as I did…it was in that moment that I knew I found the one for me.

So much has changed over the years, even that little place that we went to on our very first date that, Caio Cristina, that became “our” place for every special occasion is no longer there….but we are. And even though we can no longer take a good picture together…there is no one I’d rather spend every day of my life with. Happy Anniversary, beautiful. by @mikekalinowski

I hate, with a passion, getting headshots done. Thankfully I met @jacksondavisphoto and can’t speak highly enough about him!

This is probably the most relaxed shoot I’ve ever had and absolutely loved what we were able to capture.

I need to send a huge shout out to my friend @thetonyrobinette for putting me in touch with Jackson.

These are all raw images and I love them so much as they are. I don’t even wanna do any kind of touchup or color correction, Jackson’s that good.
