Since my first brother was born in 1991, my mom has written Christmas poem with updates on the family to go alongside our Christmas card. About 10 years ago we started sharing the responsibility across the family. This year was my turn and I thought I’d share as well as some from the past.

She is the same age writing her first poem in ‘91 as I am now and couldn’t be prouder to be her and my dad’s son

Poems and pictures from
2024
2014 (picture is a Kelch classic)
2003 (with ‘04 picture)
1996
1991

‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the house
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a mouse

Chris and Lindsay had a nice trip to London in August
The highlight of the trip was when they got engaged
They have moved in together in Chicago
The wedding is next to be staged

Conor gained me as a new roommate
And recently graduated from Kellog, earning his MBA
Seeing his grit and determination
Someone modeling after his path would never be led astray

We have added one more boy to the family
Maddie and Ryan had their son Henry this fall
They are learning how to become parents
Though my mom is ready to always be on call

This year I traveled to Mexico, Colombia, Europe, and Canada
Along with spending a month in NYC
The one thing that continues to matter
Is that I am always surrounded by friends and family

My mom and dad have bought a Florida residence
While also upgrading their home on wheels this year
They are keeping active traveling around the country, visiting new friends
I am always eager to catch up with a listening ear

In June we said goodbye to my Grandma Case
She was so happy to see a winning season for Michigan
She was the last of the grandparents
She’ll be happy to be with them all again

My main goal is to focus on mine and others happiness
Primarily by focusing on the moment and living in the now.
I’m lucky to live the life I live,
I’ll always appreciate where I am and how

We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year
And hope your lives were filled with as much joy
As ours were this year
