Looking forward to being back in Hong Kong for four concerts in the coming days:

March 21 — Duo with @thedanielchu at @wontonmeen_
March 25 — Solo performance at The Box, Freespace, @westk.hk
March 28 & 29 — Performances with @hksinfonietta, also at The Box, Freespace, @westk.hk

I’m very grateful to Hong Kong Sinfonietta for organizing these concerts and for commissioning my piece *This is Classical Music?*.

The piece is a playful collage built from many tiny quotes from well-known classical works — fragments that briefly appear, overlap, and transform into something new.

Looking forward to sharing this music in Hong Kong.

here comes a video that shows our latest updates in action. The pitch shifter with the new presets makes creating chords on the fly a breeze. The wobbler chops it into a rhythmic pattern. Add a baseline, reverb and a beautiful melody, and there is your song :)

Our latest MikeLoop update adds 8 preset buttons to the Pitch Shift effect. You can now prepare up to eight 3-voice chords and switch between them. For example you could loop a whole chord progression in one go, add a bass line in the second round, and sing a melody right after, therefore instantly creating a whole loop song live on stage.
Our goal is to make MikeLoop as intuitive as possible, with a lot of fun and flow and being in the moment. The presets make the Pitch Shifter a lot easier to use.

Our latest update features a Tremolo Effect, we call it Wobbler. You can change from smooth wobbling (sine wave) to sharp wobbling (square wave), which sounds like a chopper or stroboscope effect. You can also change the intensitiy and wobble speed with an XY pad.
I love to combine many effects to create an individual sound. Maybe have a hint of delay, a bit of detuning, a subtle wobbler effect and a soft, long reverb? I then save this effect as a song to get back to it in a vocal solo.

Our latest update features a clock for MikeLoop, pure and simple! Keep track of the time during performances and see how long your 2-track recording has been running. We made MikeLoop's clock as an editable module, so you can choose where on the screen you need it. You can place the clock just as all other buttons and sliders with the Editor on any tab, anywhere on the screen.

our latest update features four extended layouts for MikeLoop. They can serve as an inspiration to create your own layout with the Editor. You can decide what functions you need the most on the iPad screen. Create your preferred balance of loops and effects, decide, how many tracks you need and so on. I create different layouts for different situations in concerts or vocal lessons: More loops for solo performances, more effects for bigger bands. And sometimes I create very specific layouts just for one song.

our latest MikeLoop update features a pre-recorded song for MikeLoop. You can listen to each separate loop and then combine the loops in your own way to create your personal arrangement. You can also add your own loops and deconstruct the pre-recorded song into your own, new creation.

Our newest MikeLoop update features a new Single Mode for Simple Loop. You can now choose for your loops to either play endlessly, or just once and then stop. This comes in handy if you would like to play snippets of sounds as a kind of comment during a performance, rather than playing endless soundscapes.

Our December update enhances MikeLoop's Pitch Shifter. You can now pitch 3 separate intervals, thus create a chord and sing along the pitched intervals in parallels.
MikeLoop keeps growing, it is now a sophisticated multi effects device as much as a professional loop app.

Our update today is a sample song for MikeLoop. We prerecorded a song for you, so you can play around with the recorded loops and combine them as you please. You can sing along or delete some of the loops and record your own version of the song. It's a great way of exploring MikeLoop and can be an inspiration for your own ideas.
